IHSA STATE RESULTS
There were 73 Illinois Junior Golf
Association members who finished in
the top 20 in their respective class during
the Illinois State Golf Championships
which were held in October. Four of
the five individual champions were IJGA
Members and four of the five teams
which finished at the top of their class
have IJGA members on their teams.
The most noteable performance at the
IHSA State Championships came from
Tommy Kuhl (2018) of Morton, Ill., who
set the state record after carding an
8-under-par 63 during the opening round
and following it up with a 5-under-par
66 during the final round. His 13-under-
par 129 tournament total is the lowest
total carded across all the classes by
an astounding eight strokes. Kuhl has
committed to playing collegiate golf for
the University of Illinois starting next fall.
