Dear Reader,
We are excited for the re-launch of the Illinois Junior Golf Association’ s quarterly newsletter! The ultimate goal of this publication is to help you learn more about how to get the most out of your membership, through education on our policies and information about our different types of programming and event offerings.
With the start of the 2017 season just a couple of months away, we are gearing up for a great season. From the addition of a multi-day championship event in the Youth Development Program, to an elite invitational run by our Mid-American Junior Golf Tour, we will host 150 total events of varying formats for junior golfers of all skill levels between the ages of 8 and 18.
Inside this issue you will find a review of 2016 numbers, a glimpse of our 2017 member education initiative, important changes that are coming this season and notes from our division directors, along with other news about each of their programs.
Lastly, I would like to encourage you to nominate an IJGA or MAJGT member who shows exemplary sportsmanship and character for our newly instituted Sportsmanship award. There is more information about this award later in the issue.
