Summertime is fun time ! That is the pervading thought at Up to Par as we begin our second summer here at Colonial Heritage . With the success of the Weekend Grill Party during the Spring , our belief in the bright future of our resident relationship at Colonial Heritage was definitely reinforced ! We are so blessed to have such a beautiful , vibrant community to share here that it seems like an obvious conclusion to try and have food and fellowship together as often as possible . As food & beverage director , I have a passion for making the dining experience as positive as it can be , and it seems to me that the residents of such a gorgeous community have a bit of an advantage from the start when it comes to their ambience . So we have made an effort to help the residents enjoy their time at the club as much as possible by creating more and more opportunities to eat and drink within the gates !
The 4th of July party is a great example of a fun food tradition that we hope will become a “ must attend ” event for years to come . A new summer themed cocktail menu will help create the vibe of having a “ holiday at home ” every week , with friends and family sharing a CH Punch or a Rum Mulligan while enjoying the view . Residents can also look forward to combining our delicious smokehouse items with a dram of one of our exclusive bourbons - a combination only available at Colonial Heritage ! The social committee putting a grass skirt around the bar for their Parrot Head party made me think about how much fun the residents might have with a Summer Tiki Party Night at the restaurant and Grille , so look for announcements about those coming soon .
As our relationship with residents and guests keeps growing stronger and stronger , I am so encouraged by the positive reactions of not only our long-time regulars at the restaurant , but also the staff to all of the support that they are receiving . We are all so grateful in the Food & Beverage department that more and more residents are feeling the confidence to bring their friends or even their neighbors ( for the first time in years ) up to the clubhouse for a Tuesday Taco Night or even a couple ’ s night out on a Saturday in the Heritage Room . All the new and smiling faces are part of the growth that we at Up to Par have envisioned for the residents of Colonial Heritage since we began our partnership . And I believe that we have so many more new faces from the community to serve . It is still my goal to see the patio tables by the pool filled with families having burgers and BBQ on the weekends , and golfers on that big couch with a beverage in hand getting just the right refreshment needed to hit the 10th hole . While upstairs in the Grille at night regulars will be vying for seats at the bar to try the newest culinary creation .
Together , I truly believe that we will get there soon ! We are already on the way . With the improvements that we have seen in the quality and consistency of our service and cuisine comes the challenge of continuing that upward trajectory , and we are excited to meet that challenge this Summer and onward !
