MOSES
The second Biblical example of God using “imperfect people” who were perfect for His perfect plans is Moses. Moses’ qualifications were imperfect by human standards for God’s perfect plan of liberating the Israelites from their Egyptian masters because he was just a shepherd working for his fatherin-law Jethro in the backside of the wilderness. Moses was cognizant of the fact that he lacked the social status that would be deemed necessary for a person being sent to negotiate a deal with Pharaoh who was the most powerful person in Egypt for he asked God “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and ask him to release the Israelites?” (Exodus 3:11) In addition, Moses stammered and thus he was not a good public speaker and he reminded God of this fact when he told Him, “I am slow of speech and tongue.” (Exodus 4:10) But God already knew of his “physical disability” of stammering when He asked him to go to speak to powerful Pharaoh for He asked him, “Who makes the mouths of human beings? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the sighted, or the blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what to say.” (Exodus 4:11)
