POSTGRADUATE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM INAUGURATION M.P shah Hospital  held an inauguration ceremony on 24 th January 2018 for its first Postgraduate fellowship program. The program is under the auspices of COSESCA (The College  of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa), an independent body that fosters postgraduate education in  surgery  across 12 Sub-Saharan countries.   It has always been our endeavor at the M.P Shah Hospital to participate and actively engage in Medical education programs and this fellowship program is the first step in this direction. 26 THE HEALTH TRACK JANUARY - MARCH 2018 MEAK CAMP 140 Number of missions MEAK has carried out to date MEAK - Medical Educational Aid to Kenya Mike and Dee Bellière are the founders and driving force behind the charity, MEAK. In 1994 the Belliere’s took the bold step of establishing a bona fide charity and MEAK was born. The main thrust back then was the collection, transportation and distribution of medical and educational aid provided, free of charge, by UK donors to needy organisations in Kenya. Today MEAK organizes and funds medical and surgical missions in the fields of paediatric cardiac surgery, dentistry, ophthalmology and orthopaedics. To date MEAK has carried out over 140 missions, performing over 15,500 surgical procedures, but we know there are plenty of people we still need to reach and that the numbers in need are increasing on a daily basis.
