24 The Health | june-july, 2020 | Holistic Health | The Covid inner revelation Re-emergence of our creative nature By Jeganathan Ramachandram Our eyes are the window to the inner world. They not only see but speak emotions that words might fail to convey. We recently posted in social media asking people at random to draw an eye. More than 50 people sent in their drawings. This survey was done to demonstrate a unique emotion that is resurfacing in this pandemic era. People are naturally becoming creative. One will notice the number of creative outputs in social media recently. Facebook and Instagram are filled with so many different perspectives of creative outpour, never seen before the pandemic. The emotion of the inner creative nature. Covid-19 had done some damage, yet this pandemic state has given almost all of us time to unlock our inner creative self. This pandemic period has seen us unwinding, and though some are not able to take this isolation, many have opened a self-expressive dimension within. The creative nature within us is now finding ways to keep us going in these trying times. From the beginning, the hurdles in life that we collectively experience have a typical pattern. We face a crisis, and a solution soon appears after that; only this time, it might be extended a little longer. Look at our faces now. We are looking calmer, less stressed. The idea of competition is lesser around us amidst the pandemic period (these applies not to the frontliners and others who are still going to work). The bond with our family and the tolerance level within family members are becoming more positive. Staying within the home, we are protected from the menace of comparison. We are no more comparing or competing with others. Look at our children. They are probably studying better without the competitive elements around them. Right now, the face is breathing. With hardly any makeup, and we are wearing comfortable clothes that allow us freedom and probably the pores are breathing without stress. We are not implying that we disown cosmetics and fashion and not go to workplace hereafter. (This shows how the difference is making a change in our lives at this present moment). We are definite that a shift is happening within our human brain. This “New Norm” is slowly restructuring the way we see life and our response. We are gradually moving towards basic living. We are eating healthier food and exercising with more care. We are finding ways to face the bleak future, which is definitely going to strike us for at least another year. Evolution has always handled such situations before. This time, it is making a correction within the brain faculty to guide us through this crisis. We were all born with a creative nature and the logic discipline. Both are equally important for wholesome growth. The logic brain taught us discipline and ways to keep the body and mind healthy. While the creative nature in us made us discover the emotions of the heart and explored new possibilities of building our confidence through the merging of the heart and brain. In neuroscience, it is known as ‘Heartbrain’. The human growth, in the beginning, was well-balanced. Creativity and logic in the form of culture moulded society. Values were spread through the arts. Literature and paintings told stories of history and moral values. This influenced the logic brain to break the borders of limitation and invent new ideas that made human society grow into an advanced civilisation. But along the path, in a rush to rule and control the mass, a particular quarter manipulated art and science and made them go separate ways. The greedy and powerful made sure these two principles never meet. They knew the creative nature had a tendency to expand our general knowledge and take us into higher realms of understanding. This nature will allow humans to speak out and question rigid systems. The powerful self-centred rulers curbed the creative landscape and introduced certain destructive doctrines which gradually erased the creative potency. We were made to follow the rules through fear oriented disciplines that were planted into many belief systems. They made the science group benefit more and misused their inventions. The world of commercialism without quality and care influence every walk of life. From food to medicine to every possible device that was used by the mass was manipulated.
