As this issue is in part Haute Couture fashion focused , I found it more than fitting to spotlight legendary fashion stylist Freddie Leiba as our cover story . Leiba has had a remarkable and groundbreaking career in the fashion industry , and was a trailblazer in spite of the odds that he faced as a person of color in fashion .
I had my questions prepared for my interview with Freddie Leiba , however , once we began the interview , it became quite clear that his story was beyond what I knew or imagined . My prepared questions took a backseat to the natural flow of our conversation , and the first hand , authentic insider storytelling approach that Leiba gifted me with as he recounted his fascinating career path .
Today , Leiba shares his knowledge giving online talks and is educating young people about what it takes to work in fashion . He is also composing a book about his enviable career , which I for one cannot wait to peruse .
