How Korin Simmons is carrying her family’ s business forward— and opening doors for other women along the way.

For Korin Simmons, COO of Complete Concessions, receiving the 2026 Women in the Trailer Industry( WITI) Scholarship came at a meaningful time. The recognition not only provides the opportunity to attend the 2026 NATDA Trailer Show, but also reinforces her determination to grow as a leader while building lasting connections in the trailer industry.
“ It almost brought me to tears,” Simmons said of learning she had been selected.“ It’ s been a really rough year, just family wise and business wise, navigating an unexpected transition.”
After unexpectedly stepping into a larger leadership role within her family’ s business, Simmons has embraced the challenge of carrying the company forward. While Complete Concessions is known for concession trailers and carts, she has her sights set on expanding into new markets.
“ My goal is to broaden what we do,” she said.“ I want to expand into utility trailers, dump trailers, flatbeds, race trailers, and more. I want to fulfill that dream for my dad as much as I can.”
The scholarship appealed to Simmons because it offered more than financial assistance. It opened the door to building a professional network of her own. As she transitioned from an administrative role into executive leadership, she found herself looking for peers who understood the unique experiences of women in the trailer industry.
“ I’ ve had people look for a man to answer their questions, not knowing that I do know what I’ m talking about,” Simmons said.“ I wanted to connect with other women in this industry who have been through the same thing and learn how they navigate it.”
That perspective has shaped the advice she shares with other women entering the industry.
“ Don’ t be afraid to insert yourself into the conversation,” she said.“ You’ re just as knowledgeable as the man next to you. Walk in with confidence and know that you belong there.”
At this year’ s NATDA Trailer Show, Simmons plans to meet manufacturers, strengthen relationships across the industry, and explore opportunities to expand Complete Concessions’ offerings. She is especially excited to connect with other women leaders who can offer insight, encouragement, and shared experience.
For Simmons, the scholarship also shines a spotlight on the business her family has worked hard to build.“ It’ s national recognition for our small family business,” she said.“ It gets our brand and our dream out there on a bigger scale.”
Looking ahead, she hopes other women will take advantage of the same opportunity.
“ It’ s a great opportunity,” Simmons said.“ It made it possible for me to attend the show when otherwise I wouldn’ t have been able to, and I’ m so thankful.”
NATDA’ s Women in the Trailer Industry Committee continues to champion initiatives that support professional development, mentorship, and collaboration among women across the light-to medium-duty trailer industry.
