The Haul May/June 2026 | Seite 54

Balancing ambition with responsibility comes down to clarity. Growth is important, but not at the expense of stability. If your foundation isn’ t strong, growth can become a risk instead of an opportunity.
Q: As a longtime NATDA member, how have the Association and the NATDA Trailer Show supported your growth and evolution as a business owner?
A: NATDA has been valuable because it connects us to people we wouldn’ t normally meet, in particular at the NATDA Trailer Show. Those relationships we have built at the show and through the association have helped us grow, not just in business, but in how we think.
It’ s pushed us to improve our customer service and be more intentional about who we do business with. Over time, we’ ve learned that not every customer is the right fit, and NATDA has helped us refine that.
It’ s also given us a platform to share who we are and what we stand for, which is just as important as what we build.
Q: Are you planning to join us at the NATDA Trailer Show this year, and what value do you believe the Show offers to today’ s trailer dealerships and manufacturers?
A. Yes, we plan to attend. The value is in the exposure and the relationships. You get to see what others are doing, learn about new products and services, and connect with dealers and manufacturers across the industry. It’ s not just about selling. It’ s about learning, building trust, and staying connected to where the industry is going.
Q. As a Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, what are you most proud of beyond the business itself, and what advice would you give the next generation of trailer industry professionals?
A. Beyond the business, I’ m most proud of building something that is stable, sustainable, and debt-free. That represents discipline, sacrifice, and long-term thinking.
For the next generation, my advice is simple. Always look for ways to make things better. Stay committed to your goals and don’ t quit when it gets hard, because it will get hard. You don’ t need to have everything figured out, and you don’ t need a college degree to be successful. What you need is drive, consistency, and the willingness to keep going. And don’ t try to do it alone. Lean on the people around you.
