BrightView Landscape Services Trailer
Where Service Sets the Standard
Service has long been central to how Wallace Trailers operates, and in recent years, it has taken on even greater importance as the dealership refined its focus. Wallace says hiring Jimmy Kenniston, who came from a background in local city council leadership rather than service management, proved to be a turning point for their service department. Kenniston effectively operates as an onsite general manager, bringing a level of oversight and accountability that allowed Wallace to focus more fully on the dealership’ s long‐term direction.
With five technicians in the shop, Wallace Trailers is known for taking on custom projects that extend well beyond routine repair work. One recent standout project was the full conversion of a 1974 Airstream into a functioning pizza kitchen, a project that required extensive frame repair, panel replacement, and a complete interior buildout before it was put into service at a local golf course.
Projects like the mobile pizza kitchen reflect the dealership’ s willingness to tackle work many shops pass on, whether it involves specialty food trailers, filtration and water units, or other purpose‐built designs. Wallace says these jobs demand careful coordination, patience, and skilled craftsmanship, but they’ ve become an important part of what sets the dealership apart and keeps the service team engaged with challenging, meaningful projects.
Strategic Partnerships, Built One Relationship at a Time
One of the dealership’ s most significant developments emerged through a fleet partnership with BrightView Landscapes. After recognizing the limits of continually repairing aging trailers, Wallace Trailers worked with CellTech Trailers to introduce a purpose‐built trailer for BrightView to sample.
The performance and durability of the trailer was highly successful, resulting in BrightView purchasing more than 600 trailers that year and establishing a relationship that continues to evolve. For Wallace, it’ s simple: do the work, deliver what you promised, and let the results speak.
The Role of NATDA in Ongoing Growth
Wallace Trailers has been an NATDA member since 2014, and over the years the association has played a meaningful role in the dealership’ s development. Many manufacturer relationships began at the NATDA Trailer Show, which Wallace describes as the most effective setting for evaluating product offerings, meeting decision‐makers, and assessing long‐term compatibility.
The education at the Trailer Show has proven equally valuable, particularly the sessions focused on marketing, digital strategy, and operational insight, which continue to influence how the dealership approaches visibility and engagement in an increasingly online marketplace. Beyond structured programming, informal conversations with fellow dealers at the show over the years have reinforced common challenges and have offered practical insights drawn from shared experience.
At the core of Wallace Trailers’ approach is a philosophy William Wallace returns to often.“ We just try to treat people the way we’ d want to be treated,” Wallace says.“ They’ re not a number and they’ re not a dollar sign. If you focus on being really good at what you do, go above and beyond where you can, and take care of people like they’ re your neighbor, the rest tends to fall into place. Be the best where you are, serve your community well, and do it one step at a time.”
