Closer look at a marine axle
Every trailer relies on what is underneath it. Whether hauling equipment, carrying cargo, supporting a jobsite, or helping someone get where they need to go, axles, running gear, and related components play a central role in real-world performance.
For Terran Industries, axles remain at the center of the business. Over time, however, Terran has grown into a broader supply partner for the trailer, RV, marine, and related component markets- expanding its product offering, engineering support, and ability to serve customers across North America.
A Strong Foundation, Expanded
Over the past several years, Terran has built on the foundation that first earned the trust of trailer and RV manufacturers: dependable products, clear communication, and a willingness to grow with the industry. Today, Terran supports a wide range of light- to medium-duty axle applications, expanded marine capabilities, and heavier-duty axle programs up to 12K capacity. The company also offers a broader range of trailer components, including axle assemblies, running gear, brake systems, suspension components, hubs, drums, and related parts.
Built for Real-World Use
Terran’ s approach to quality starts well before an axle is delivered. From material selection through production and inspection, the process is built around consistency, reliability, and long-term performance. The company continues to emphasize corrosion protection, precision manufacturing, inspection, and continuous improvement across its axle and component programs. Terran’ s quality platform has included IATF-16949 automotive quality certification and QAI certification to the CSA standard CAN3-D313 for 3500-8000LB axles.
For trailer manufacturers, the real test is what happens after the component leaves the plant. Products have to perform across different loads, road conditions, climates, and applications. That is why Terran works closely with customers to understand how products are being built, serviced, and used, then applies that feedback to engineering support, product development, and practical problem solving.
Proven in Practice
Terran’ s approach is reflected in long-standing relationships, including Griffin Trailer:
“ Griffin Trailer has been doing business with Terran for over four years, and we consider them more than a vendor— they are a true production partner. Their quality, service, and support have consistently been top notch. Terran has become a staple in Griffin Trailer’ s commercial-grade production, and their growing presence in the trailer industry is well deserved. Kevin Janiak and the Terran team have done an excellent job keeping us supplied, informed, and moving forward. We value the partnership and look forward to continued success together.”
