Kingdom Equipment & Trailers Lot Beauparlant Family
The recent business growth has led Kingdom to a new facility after spending nearly a year navigating Vermont’ s development process. The irony, according to Beauparlant, is that the building already feels smaller than expected.
“ A year ago, if you’ d asked me where we’ d be right now, it would have looked a lot different than where we actually are,” he says.“ I’ d rather have that problem than the other problem.”
Many of Kingdom’ s customers are contractors and small business owners, a customer base Beauparlant knows well from his years in landscaping. Having built and operated a contracting business himself, he understands what those customers need because he spent years in their shoes.“ Knowing that game and speaking that language with those guys,” as he describes it, has helped Kingdom build strong relationships throughout the region’ s small-business community.
Northern New England’ s climate also shapes local demand. Long winters and heavily salted roads make galvanized and aluminum trailers especially popular, while snowmobile trailer sales help keep business moving throughout the colder months. Kingdom’ s reputation has also extended beyond their local market. While many customers come from throughout New England, the dealership sold trailers into 10 states in 2025, including Georgia, Ohio and Florida.
Getting Savvy With Service & Parts Add-Ons
While trailer sales continue to fuel the business, Beauparlant sees major opportunity in parts and service. That realization became much clearer after attending an NATDA event in Reno, where conversations with other dealers and educational programming highlighted just how much potential existed beyond the initial trailer sale. What started as a way to support trailer owners has quickly become an important part of the business.
Since then, the dealership has dramatically expanded its parts inventory, growing from roughly $ 15,000 in parts to nearly a quarter-million dollars. The service department now handles everything from brake repairs and wiring work to fabrication, modifications and custom trailer upgrades.
Kingdom Trailers has also begun implementing Blackpurl software to better manage inventory, parts and service operations. As annual sales continue to climb, Beauparlant believes building stronger systems today will help Kingdom stay ahead of future challenges rather than reacting to them later.
His focus isn’ t necessarily on becoming the biggest dealership. It’ s on becoming a better one.
NATDA Connects Dealers in Valuable Ways
Shortly after purchasing the business, Beauparlant joined NATDA for the same reasons he had always attended industry events throughout his career: education, networking and the opportunity to learn from others.
What stands out most, he says, is how practical the conversations at NATDA are. Rather than hearing broad business advice, he’ s able to learn directly from trailer industry professionals who face many of the same challenges he encounters every day. Dealer panels, and educational sessions have all
given him ideas he could immediately bring back to Vermont.
Looking ahead to NATDA Trailer Show, Beauparlant plans to continue those conversations while introducing more of his team to the training opportunities available in Nashville. Although he has been an NATDA member since 2023, competing business and family priorities have kept him from attending the show. This year, he plans to close the dealership for a few days and experience the event firsthand alongside his team.
Serve the Customers You Have Well
Growth has created new opportunities for Kingdom, but Beauparlant’ s approach remains the same: take care of the customers you already have.
He recently heard from a customer who had purchased a trailer elsewhere after Kingdom didn’ t have the right model in stock. When that dealership later closed, the customer called Kingdom for help with a warranty issue. By the end of the conversation, they were talking about his next trailer purchase.
For Beauparlant, that’ s what good customer service is all about.“ Don’ t spend money on adding more customers if you can’ t already serve the customers that you already have,” he says.
For a dealer who never expected to own a trailer business, that philosophy has already carried Kingdom Equipment and Trailers a long way. And if the last three years are any indication, Beauparlant is already thinking about what’ s next.
