Happiness
Experiments
Whereas most magazines offer us advice about
caring for ourselves physically and emotionally
(food, friends, sleep, exercise, sex, balanced
lifestyle) there is some uncertainty about how we
express and nurture our spiritual intelligence. For
that reason, what follows on the menu below are
some pointers to develop your spiritual muscles.
There is no need to try them all; pick a couple and
give them a go.

Find a soul friend
Walking through life in the company of a friend
makes sacred the path you travel. If you have
someone in your life like this then take time to
reconnect; if not, then consider how you could go
about finding and nurturing such a friendship.
Celebration
Some people think that Jesus was often partying.
Take time to celebrate life and the success of others.
Sacred place
It is good to have a place you can go to to find
peace and quiet. A sacred place where it is easier to
realise that you are not alone on this planet, that
there is a hand that guides your life, and that there
is hope for tomorrow. Take a few moments this
week to visit that place.
Plan a quiet day.
Laughter
It is good to laugh. Watch a funny programme on
TV, visit a comedy club, go and see a comedian, or
read a book of jokes.
Hospitality
We meet something of the spiritual in the
lives of others. Sharing a meal with friends or
acquaintances will allow you to explore each other’s
stories.
Service
Often in the expressing of kindness to others
we encounter something of the divine. Look for
opportunities where you can help someone else.
Filtering voices
From when we wake up to the moment that we
go to sleep there are people communicating to us.
Whether it’s the DJ on the radio, the lyricist of the
song you are humming, or the commercials on TV,
everyone has a message. Caring for your soul is
about operating a filter that ensures that you only
allow in that which you decide.
