Fall flavors from the farmhouse

by Jaime Wuillermin
Tucked away on a five-generation family farm located at 875 Ninth St . in Hammonton , you will find a quaint and cozy bakery owned and operated by Emma Wuillermin Petetti . She has been baking for years since graduating college and found her true calling in the kitchen . She first found herself going to college for hot foods and discovered she really enjoyed working with pastry . Wuillermin started working in other kitchens and bakeries before her bakery was built on the family farm . From cakes , cookies , macaroons , croissants , cinnamon rolls and even boba style drinks , there are many delicious baked goods produced weekly .
October is already here and some of the delicious treats coming from the bakery will include blood orange donuts and Count Chocula boba drinks that have chocolate-flavored popping pearls . Fall , especially around Thanksgiving , is a really busy time according to Wuillermin and every year fans of her baked goods can expect something new and exciting to come out of her bakery .
“ I don ’ t like to stick to the same menu , I like to keep things fresh and new , I feel like that keeps things alive and this fall I have planned to make gourmet stuffed donuts filled with all the flavors that you imagine for the season such as orange cranberry or pumpkin pie … something different ,” Wuillermin said .
Emma ’ s Farmhouse Confections is open on Saturdays from 11 a . m . to 3 p . m . and her delicious Big Bake menus are available weekly on her social media platforms . Examples this time of year from a previous week are mushroom tarts by the slice , chocolate caramel tarts by the slice , Belgian buns , spinach artichoke croissants , and cronuts ( cinnamon sugar , tutti Frutti ), turkey pesto croissants , filled donuts ( lemon ginger , honey comb ) and banana cookies .
Wuillermin has fans that visit from all over and actually plan their trips to and from the Jersey Shore knowing they must make a stop at Emma ’ s Farmhouse Confections .
“ I have people from Ocean City and Philadelphia coming in to see me and making me part of their weekend shopping trips . People have told me that they travel in for their favorite Hammonton stops and I have become part of their route . I love that . I want to have people come in to the bakery and be able to sit down and chat about their lives and I want any future employees to have that some connection ,” Wuillermin said .
To place an order for an upcoming party or event Wuillermin requests at least a two-week notice . For more information on Wuillermin ’ s weekly baked goods , you can find posts and videos on her website ( www . farmhouseconfections . com ), Facebook and Instagram @ farmhouseconfections .
