Paul J . DeMarco , 31 , of rosedale , died on Sunday , December 18 , 2016 , in Virtua Voorhees Hospital .
Born in Vero Beach , florida , he was a lifelong rosedale resident . Paul was a self-employed H-VaC technician .
He was predeceased by his father , Vincent J . DeMarco ; his maternal grandparents , Paul and Mary Hoffman and his paternal grandparents , Joseph and rosaria DeMarco . Paul is survived by his mother , Victoria DeMarco ( nee Hoffman ) of rosedale ; his sister , rosemary DeMarco ( abe ) of rosedale ; his step-sister , renee DeMarco of Las Vegas , Nev .; his nephews , zachary , Miguel , a . J . and Nicholas ; his nieces , Laila and tatyana ; his aunts and uncles , Paul and anita Hoffman of Hammonton , anna Logiovino of ft . Rosemarie C . Carrafiello rosemarie C . ( nee Cappuccio ) Carrafiello , 75 , of Hammonton , died peacefully on Wednesday , December 21 , 2016 , in her home with her two daughters by her side . rosemarie was affectionately known to all who loved her as “ ro ro .” She was a graduate of St . Joseph High School . She taught fourth and sixth grade at St . Joseph School for several years . She was a real estate appraiser and an assistant Vice President for Sun National Bank in Vineland until her retirement . after retirement , she enjoyed substitute teaching at the local schools where she was loved by all . ro ro loved spending her summers in Wildwood Crest , where she worked part time as the “ information Lady ”. She had a way of making everyone feel like family with her zest for life and her tell it like it is attitude . rosemarie was predeceased by her husband , Michael r . Carrafiello and her parents , anthony and Mae Cappuccio . She is survived by her two daughters , Marissa r . of Hammonton and Michele L . of Voorhees ; two brothers , William J Cappuccio and his wife , Lorraine of Hammonton , and anthony C . Cappuccio of Margaret City . family and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on tuesday , December 27 at St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish – St . Joseph Church , third and french streets , Hammonton , NJ . Police make arrests

HaMMONtON — Police made a number of arrests last week , including the following , Hammonton Police Det . Sgt . edward Slimm said .
• On December 20 at 5:10 p . m ., Luis a . Sagardia iii , 30 , of Vineland , was involved in a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of 12th Street ( route 54 ) and Second road and found to have two outstanding NCiC warrants , one from Somerset County and one from Cumberland County according to
the report by Slimm . He was issued tickets for careless driving and driving with a suspended license . He was turned over to the Somerset County Prosecutor ’ s Office , Slimm ’ s report said .
Sagardia struck Helena Burgress , 19 , of egg Harbor twp ., from behind . Sagardia was driving a 2009 Chevy Silverado silver in color , and Burgress was driving a 2009 Nissan Maxima black in color . Burgress was stopped in southbound route 54 and was struck from behind by Sagardia , the report by Slimm said .

Council hears about local projects from town engineer

HaMMONtON — the following agenda items were reported during robert Vettese of town engineering firm adams , rehmann and Heggan ( arH ) associates ’ engineer ’ s report during the December 19 council meeting :
• Construction is progressing on the Valley avenue project . the 24- inch sanitary sewer main installation was completed on November 23 . the existing sanitary sewer main is still being decommissioned . the water main installation is almost complete , with the contractor approaching Bellevue avenue . Concrete curb , driveway aprons and sidewalk have been constructed between Broadway and the Hammonton arms apartment complex and the contractor ( Mathis Construction Co . LLC .) reached Grape Street on December 14 . the contractor started the base paving of the roadway , between Broadway and the first driveway of the apartments , on December 14 . the contractor is working on finishing the sanitary sewer and water service laterals and storm sewer installation . Progress and the weather will be continuously monitored to ensure that the contractor works towards the project deadline .
• the mayor received a letter from the New Jersey Department of transportation ( NJDOt ) Commissioners that applications are being accepted for the 2017 Municipal aid Program . applications must be submitted by friday , february 3 . the town is asked to consider the following options for funding consideration : Municipal Aid Roadway : construction of the Second road resurfacing / reconstruction project , extending between 12th Street ( route 54 ) and Chew road ( County route 559 ). $ 570,000 was applied for the prior application and $ 196,000 was allocated . Bike Path Construction : 11th Street to egg Harbor road ( County route 561 ). $ 330,000.00 was applied for on the prior application and $ 230,000.00 was allocated . the motion was made by Gribbin , seconded by Councilman Sam rodio and passed unanimously .
• Walden estates Maintenance Bond : arH met on-site with the Quality of Life Committee , the developer and representatives from the Home Owners association on December 17 . an inspection occurred related to the request for release of a project maintenance bond . the motion to release the project maintenance bond subject to an acceptable inspection by the Quality of Life Committee was made by Giralo , seconded my Councilman Michael Pullia and passed unanimously .
• tractor Supply Performance Bond reduction : the applicant has made a request for reduction of their project performance bond . arH met on-site December 17 with the Quality of Life Committee to inspect the site . they have completed approximately 80 percent of the project site improvements . the

During the solicitor ’ s report , town solicitor Michael Malinsky requested a motion to approve a resolution regarding an agreement with the county for storm water drainage improvements along Weymouth road . the resolution was authorized by Gribbin to complete the change in agreement . the motion was made by Giralo , seconded by torrissi and passed , but DiDonato and rodio recused themselves from the vote . as a result of the approval , the agreement with the county will extend to December 31 , 2017 , according to Malinsky . Malinsky also requested a motion to approve a tax assessment worksheet for exemption for improvements to a dwelling . the assessment was completed on December 16 for a property at 1005 N . egg Harbor road ( Lot 13 , Block 1707 ). according to Malinsky , the assessment dealt with exempting a corner store from an ordinance regarding making improvements to a residential dwelling . the motion was made by furgione and seconded by rodio and was passed . torrissi recused himself from the vote .
During the mayor ’ s report , Di- Donato suggested the town auction off its remaining sesquicentennial banners that used to hang in front of town hall , among other places . Council agreed to keep one on display banner in town hall and auction off the rest , starting at $ 150 . residents need to go to the town clerk ’ s office on the third floor to enter their name into the auction for the banners . the motion was made by Gribbin , seconded by Giralo and passed unanimously .
During Public Works Manager / Business administrator Jerome Barberio ’ s report , he announced that Stockton University ’ s Noyes Museum of art asked
