Vincent Giannini, formerly of Hammonton, recently donated his book on music theory, Getting Music: The Basics For Rock,
Jazz, R&B, Hip Hop & Country, to the Hammonton School District. The books will be used as part of the middle and high
schools’ music education curriculum. Giannini lives near Washington, D.C., and was in town recently to make the donation. He donated 85 books valued at approximately $2500 in November.
Hammonton School District art supervisor JC Martino, high school music teacher Tim White and middle school music
teacher Matt Engel are pictured with Vincent Giannini.
Getting Music: The Basics For Rock, Jazz, R&B, Hip Hop & Country fills a gap in music books for teenagers and adults by
focusing on the essential concepts modern musicians depend on for creating music. The audience ranges from beginners
to semi-pro musicians who never had formal music training, as well as anyone just interested in how music works.
Getting Music uses a conversational tone and everyday language that make it easy to understand.
