“ that will end our ability to train our own drivers ,” Prettyman said .
However , at this time the district can provide the training before the law comes into effect in february . Prettyman said the training is free of charge .
“ there ’ s already a bus driver shortage and this [ law ] will definitely make that situation tougher ,” Prettyman said .
When it was time to vote for matters concerning finance , the board most notably resolved to :
• ratify the purchase order lists for October and November 2021 in the amount of $ 1,243,905.09 .
• approve the bill list for December 2021 in the amount of $ 915,259 .
• ratify the check lists for October and November 2021 in the amount of $ 784,468.23 .
• ratify the November 2021 payroll in the amount of $ 3,529,805.59 . exhibit e
• approve to donate bat bags that are no longer used by the high school baseball team .
• approve to dispose of outdated computer equipment .
• approve to dispose of two John Deere snow blowers and one Meyer snow plow that are no longer operational .
• approve to donate or dispose of outdated , damaged or uncirculated books and VHS tapes located in the Warren e . Sooy elementary School .
Next the board voted on matters concerning personnel . Most notably they resolved to :
• approve a letter of retirement from Grace Soistmann , district bus driver , effective December 31 , 2021 .
• approve an unpaid leave of absence for Joanne D ’ agostino ,
district bus driver , from November 29 to December 28 , 2021 .
• approve a COViD stipend to the LPN nurse ( WeS ) in the amount of $ 1,000 for the 2021- 2022 school year .
• approve a salary adjustment for the following personnel effective December 16,2021 : Nicolle Defelice from Ba - $ 58,711 to Ma ( in field ) - $ 62,609 ($ 62,234 + $ 375 in field )
• approve a letter of resignation from Suzanne Olsen , elementary school part-time cafeteria / recess aide , effective November 25 , 2021 .
• approve a letter of resignation from Jennifer Chappine , high school nurse , effective february 1 , 2022 .
• approve a letter of resignation as a high school part-time personal care aide from Valerie Schirmer effective December 10 , 2021 .
• approve a letter of resignation as high school assistant boys ’ basketball coach from robert Barbieri .
• approve the following personnel to receive a stipend for completing a 32-hour professional development training for Phonics first : Nicole Bosco , Marisa Brannau , allie Brett , ashley Burgos , Nicole Defelice , Kathy DiGiovanni , amy DiMatteo , aimee Gollihur , erica Hroncich , Kevin Kretschy , Dana Magnani , Shauna Pezzato , Nicole Spina , Kaela thomas , Kristi Vaszlavik and Karen Viruet . total Cost federal funds : 16 staff members X $ 1,280 ( stipend ) = $ 20,480 + $ 1,566.72 fiCa = $ 22,046.72 .
• approve the following personnel to provide tutoring services for middle school title i Virtual tutoring program : Melissa Busch , Yolanda Deangelo , Geoffrey Gollihur , Susan Perna , alyssa Walsh , Sarah zimmerman , Julia Bouclier , Cinthia Geraldino-Madera , Joseph ayers and Program administrator richard Baker .

• approve the following personnel for the middle school drone academy for the 2021-2022 school : Steve Minchak as Middle School Drone academy advisor for the fall . financial impact : $ 1,689 to be paid January 30 , 2022 .

• approve the following personnel pending receipt of all necessary paperwork ( current substitute pay schedule approved by the Board august 5 , 2021 : regular County Substitute Certificate - $ 110 per day , regular Standard State teaching Certificate - $ 125 per day ; substitute nurse pay schedule approved by the Board October 14 , 2021 : School Nurse - $ 225 per day ):
