COUNCIL, from Page 1
min. Edward Wuillermin is probably one of the smartest men I
know, and he’s always right. He’s
a leader who always does the right
thing for 15,000 people. Never
thinks of himself, always thinks of
others. He served this council, this
is his second time. He served six
years now, and his integrity, his
dedication is second to none,” DiDonato said.
Wuillermin thanked Gribbin and
DiDonato and briefly addressed
the crowd.
“Just a few words real quick.
You know, we live in very challenging times. Both for our country I believe, for our region and for
our town. I think looking out in 20
years, what we do in the next few
years will be very important in
terms of the kind of history they
write about our town. We have
some significant challenges that
we have to address, and how we
address them is going to determine
a lot about what that history will
be. I appreciate the citizens of
Hammonton giving me the opportunity to serve as councilperson in
town. It’s been an excellent experience and one that I will carry
with me for all my days,” Wuillermin said.
DiDonato and Gribbin then
honored Howell.
“The next gentleman has been
sitting here for 10 years … You
have to be if not the longest-serving [solicitor], in the top one or
two. Brian Howell, he is truly
amazing. He has served 10 years
and his legacy will be left for
years to come. His shoes are so
big to fill because he served as a
gentleman. Never did he favor A
or B. He always served and tried
to stay dedicated to the law and try
to be as fair as possible … Another one of my heroes and another gentleman that I will miss
so, so much,” DiDonato said.
Howell thanked the council and
spoke to the audience.
“I want to say thank you to all
the members of council that I have
served with. The town has been
blessed, really blessed with the
