improvements being made , DiDonato said he is never satisfied and vows to continue working .
“ I think we had a good year in 2022 , I ’ m one of those people who are never satisfied and very driven so you keep wanting to do better ,” DiDonato said .
“ There ’ s always room for improvement but all in all , I feel it was a good year and we were responsible and responsive to the residents of the community .”
Looking ahead to 2023 , DiDonato ’ s said his goals for 2023 are focusing on the recreational projects to improve Hammonton , such as improvements to Hammonton Lake Park , adding a bike path , making the park accessible in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act ( ADA ). He said he wants to help identify grant and federal dollars in helping make these recreational projects possible .
In terms of the progress of improving Hammonton Lake Park , DiDonato said he believes that the town is moving along and making good progress towards making those improvements . The town has identified and secured the second round of funding and is currently looking to identify the third and fourth round of state and federal funding before using local

funding .
DiDonato said he also wants to identify improvements on the roadways , underground roadwork , painting of the water tower and school properties . As stated above , progress has been made towards the repavement of Valley Avenue and School House Lane . DiDonato also wants to look into infrastructure improvements in the water and sewer systems .
“ Naturally , we still have to do the day-to-day things that are responsible for small-town thresholds , police protection and all those things ,” DiDonato said .
“ All in all , I think the town is moving forward and I think it ’ s moving forward nicely and we ’ re trying to be responsible in inflationary times to the tax rate and trying to watch every penny we spend .”
In terms of police protection of Hammonton residents , DiDonato said he has made it an important goal on his wish list every year as mayor . With 2023 approaching , the goal remains the same .
“ Any small town ’ s number-one goal is safety of its residents , whether they are speeding to keeping them protected in their homes , you have a lot of responsibilities ,” DiDonato said .
“ We take that very seriously and we take the safety and security of our residents seriously

Not many other “ wish list ” projects have been discussed with DiDonato besides what was stated in regards to the renovation and remodeling projects with Hammonton Lake Park , infrastructure remodeling and reconstruction , federal and state funding and police protection for Hammonton residents .
Ahead of 2023 , DiDonato noted in his interview with The Gazette that Hammonton is a wonderful town and exceptional to live in and wants to continue making it a town for residents to live . With the
