Holiday happenings throughout Hammonton in December Wednesday, December 3, 2014 • The Hammonton Gazette • Page 3 HOLIDAY, from Page 1 Santa at Wells Fargo Bank on the corner of Bellevue Avenue and Ronald Reagan Drive (Cental Avenue), located adjacent to where the tree lighting will take place. The rest of the evening will offer entertainment such as horse and carriage rides, a live nativity and people singing along sections of the downtown. Local businesses will be open for the public to visit and purchase items as well. The annual Downtown Christmas Tree Lighting event’s main title sponsor is jeweler David Charles Ltd. One Trick Pony, Liberty Dialysis, Arena Buick-GMC and Univers Workplace Solutions are also sponsors of the event. Lead organizer for all these festivities is Dawn Baldwin, and she said the hopes are to make the event even larger this year. “Kevin Rodio at Spellcaster [Productions] donates all of his time and equipment to give the event the ‘wow factor’ that we want. Things are moving along right now and we are getting anxious for the arrival of Santa. We have a lot of entertainment this year,” Baldwin said. The horse and carriage rides are one of the key entertainment focal points of the evening. They are being sponsored by local attorney Tim Buckley. The route for the rides has changed compared to recent years as it will start at the Hammonton Family Success Center building at 310 Bellevue Ave. and continue on Vine Street to Third Street. The local churches are also involved. “The local veterans organizations are also going to be involved, decorating at Veterans Park that night for the carriage rides. We have a really nice mix of entertainment and happy holiday choices this year for people of all ethnicities. We are trying to spiritualize it, as well as the Santa part of it. It is coming along. It is a big project,” Baldwin said. For those interested in viewing the live nativity, it will be on the corner of Vine Street and Central Avenue, near town hall and St. Joseph High School.
