Env. Commission reviews signage plans for Smith tract Page 4 • Wednesday, November 20, 2013 • The Hammonton Gazette COMMISSION, from?Page 1 Bachalis informed the environmental Commission on what occurred during the last town council meeting. Bachalis stated that Hammonton received notice of recertification as a sustainable community by Sustainable Jersey at the bronze level. “there is one final opportunity to submit revised, additional material [in regards to recertification for Sustainable Jersey] on December 1 and we like to take advantage of that opportunity. We are five points short of the silver level recertification. Currently, there are 137 towns that are certified and only 20 are certified at the silver level. So, we’d like to get that last little bit, submit that and hopefully get recertification around the beginning of the New Year. Bronze recertification is really good and there are a lot of things on the books and points that don’t expire, and other things that will be a lot easier to renew next year,” Bachalis said. in the event of a large countywide disaster, the Hammonton School District signed an agreement with the county to allow the county to utilize one of the high school gyms, office space, cafeteria and middle school gym, according to Bachalis. this news also came from the latest town council meeting. “the county also wants the town to sign an agreement to provide support for that effort. We have a meeting with the county emergency management folks, and it seems like it is something we will eventually sign but we want to make sure the details are locked down,” Bachalis said. in the Great egg Harbor river Council report, board member Chris Jage provided the latest information from that particular board meeting. Jage talked about changes in the wild and scenic river and park services. “Because of some budget tightening at the federal level, our wild and scenic river is a subset of the wild and scenic system called the partnership and that is why we have somebody sitting on it. it is managed locally by local people. Mostly in the northeast this happens, and it looks like the parks service is trying to dissolve that and take the little bit of money that actually comes to the local river managers and bring it into the park service essentially,” Jage said. During the Hammonton Lake Water Quality meeting on November 12, chairman robert reitmeyer informed the board about the dam leakage situation and said the problem continues to be assessed. also, copies of the lake testing results are available, which occurred in the summer. “One of the situations that we have looked into is apparently the dam is leaking again, and DOt [Department of transportation] went out to assess it and i guess they are still in the assessment stage. there has been no repairs made that we know of. We do have the electronic copies of all the lake testing results that took place during the summer. John Scianni, the chairman of that committee, has that information and he is going to get that out to more folks to look at it,” reitmeyer said. in the old business portion of the meeting, the members of the commission discussed the 2013 association of New Jers W?V?f?&???V?F??6???76???2?V?76R???T2??w&?B7V6?f?72?66?&F??rF?6??&??&V?F?W?W"??B?2GVRf?"6???WF???????#B??2'B?bF?Rw&?BF?BF?RV?f?&???V?F?6???76???&?&Bv0?v&FVB?F?R???b??7F???rF?&VP?6?v?2???rF?R6?F?G&7B&VBF?P??????F????R&?&V???2??( ?6?&?2??vU??B??fRF?V@?&?WBF?Rf???vV?w&??2f?"B?V7@?F?RF?&VR6?v?2?vRv?????RF?P?6?F?G&7B&V2F?RFU?FW'F?V?B?bV?f?&???V?F?&?FV7F????F?W2?'WB?fR?B6??B?2f?&?W&?????v?2F?R6?F?G&7B?6?vR6??7F???V???B&6?F??Bv?fR7&VF?BF??F?R6?F?f????R?( ?&V?F?W?W ?6?B??gFW"v???rF?&?Vv?6??R??7F?&?6???f?&?F???&?WBF?RG&7B&V??2F?W&Rv27F???V?6W'F??G??B6?v??6V?V?BFV?&W&F???2??vR?WF??VBF?RFWF??2?bV6?6?v???( ?F?Rf?'7Bv???6?6VF"f?&W7B??B?2?W7@????FW'&WF?fR?V???F??F?2v??FR6VF ??Bv??v??FR6VF"f?&W7G2&R???'F?@??B??rF?W?&V?Vf?BW2??f&?WG??bv?0?v?F??&?FB?BvFW"6??6W'fF?????6????GF?R&?B&?WBF?R??RV6???w??BF?R?7@???R?2?&vW"?V???B?2F?R??bF?R&V?v?F?F?RG&??2?B??7F?'??bF?R6?F?G&7B??F?RFW6?v?v?&????7F????W76??rv?F??@??GF?R&?B?bF?R??wVvR?6???VgV??'?F?P?V?B?bF?R???F??v????fRF?R??6?W2?( ??vR6?B??F?R&?&BF?67W76VBGv??Wr'W6??W70??FV?2?F?Rf?'7Bv2F?R#B'VFvWB?FV?0??B??r?V6????W??B?B&V?????rf? ?F??2?V"?&V?F?W?W"7FFVBF?BF?R6???GFV^( ?2&??6Rv2C?c?2?R6?V6?VB???F?B??f?&?F???v?F?F?v?66?V?F?Bg&??V&W"??2F?R6???76????V?&W'2F?67W76V@?v?B???b7F???F?F?Rv?F?F?R&V?????p?'VFvWB?F?W??6?FV6?FVBF??F?R#@???T2GVW2???F???F?&?fRF?R??V?B?bF?R??T2GVW2?v??6???6?VFW0?6WfV?6???76???W'2?Gv??FW&?FW2F?B&P???F?R&?&B?Bv?&?6??????rv?F?F?P?FV6?6???F?W&6?6R?V6W76'??FV?2f?"F?P???T2?V?76Rw&?BF?&?Vv?F?R&V?????r#2gV?G2F????6R?F?R??F????v2V?????W6?&?fVB'?F?R&?&B??6???76????V?&W"?vR?B6?V?6????&6??2'&?Vv?BF?F?Rf?&Vg&??B????'F?BF??2??F?Rv?&???6V7F????bF?P???VWF??r?vFW"F?7&VF?B&?w&??2&V??p?&??6VBF?F?RF?v??'WBBF??2???V?B??@??2&VV?F&?VB'?F?v?6?V?6????( ?&?F?F?R??V??G2&W6W'fF??????6P??BF?R??T2&??6VBF?v?&?v?F?F?P?F?v??b?????F????F?RvFW"6??6W'fF?????6V?F?fR&?w&??6??v?BF?W?&??6RF?F?v2?&?WF??r?VGV6F?????v?&?6??2??WG&V6??BF?Rv???RF???rF??vWBF?Rv?&B?WB?B??7&V6R'F?6?F?????b&W6?FV?G2??7F??F?W6RfW&?f?&?RFWf?6W2??F?W?v???vWB7&VF?B??F?V?"vFW"&????( ??vP?6?B??F?W6RFWf?6W26?V?B??6?VFR??v??Vff?6?V?7?v6???r?6???RF?B6fW2??B?`?vFW"???v??Vff?6?V?7?F?6?v6?W"?"vFW'6f??rF???WB?66?&F??rF?&6??2?F?RFWF??2?bF??2&?w&?&R7F???&V??rv?&?V@??WB'?6?V?6???&6??26?B?6VR$?$B?(?vR ???
