“as far as an actual event, this
generates a huge following—probably a couple thousand—and it’s a
bigger production. We were able to
get enough sponsorships to make
this a bigger production,” iacovelli
said.
While iacovelli works to help
organize all of MainStreet Hammonton’s events throughout the
year, she’s not alone in making
events like the tree lighting the best
they can possibly be.
Dawn Baldwin is the event coordinator for the tree lighting and
has been working hand-in-hand
with iacovelli every step of the
way. Baldwin’s main responsibility has been to organize the production of the event and organize
all the entertainment.
“i try to have somebody who is
ultimately partnering, working
with me … and that’s what she
does. She’s a great tree lighting
chair—she’s the chairperson for
this event—she does a terrific job,”
iacovelli said about Baldwin.
With performances from several
local children’s choirs, musical
groups and bands from Hammonton Middle School and the Warren
e. Sooy Jr. elementary School,
Dance Magic (which Baldwin
owns) and Dancexplosion dance
studios; carriage rides running
throughout the night; a live nativity
scene at St. Joseph’s church, plenty
of dazzling lights and decorations
and of course, a visit from the big
man himself — Santa Claus —
Baldwin is expecting this year’s
ceremony to be bigger than ever.
