considering submitting a Public Facilities application for $ 400,000 for the removal of architectural barriers at Hammonton Lake Park , according to the agenda .
The last two applications that were successful over the last three years were for improvements to make Hammonton Lake Park accessible in compliance with The Americans with Disabilities Act ( ADA ) and to remove architectural barriers for ADA accessibility , Botticello said during the meeting .
“ This represents a third phase of that ongoing project . There ’ s been no specific projects spoken to find at this point other than a continuation of the work that ’ s been done over the last couple of years ,” Botticello said .
Botticello also explained how the bleachers at Hammonton Lake Park are regular , run of the mill bleachers . The project for this year , at least as proposed , was to make the bleachers more ADA compliant and more accessible .
“ It ’ s so you can actually get a wheelchair or plenty of walking distances into the bleachers so that they can enjoy a day [ at the park ], the same way as everybody else ,” Botticello said .
Botticello also noted that in Hammonton , and in most places , 100 percent of the public facilities are not ADA compliant and that
