HaMMONtON—at the Hammonton town Council meeting on
November 17, council members
discussed new projects taking
place in the upcoming months that
will grow local businesses and
bring in tourists.
town solicitor Brian Howell announced a proposal for a whiskey
distillery that will be coming to
Hammonton. Louis and Joseph
Giansante, Philadelphia natives,
were excited to reveal their proposal for the former Major Muffler
location on egg Harbor road.
their goal is to turn local grain
into product. the Giansante
brothers said they are going to run
as an efficient facility as possible
by recycling their heat. if building
permits go well, they are aiming
for a spring 2015 opening.
“We are very happy to work
with Hammonton — we have
vowels at the end of our names —
we used to come down to the festival — we think this is the perfect
location, we admire what you have
done with the downtown area. We
think that is a perfect spot to create
quality craft distilled products. We
are not looking to open a bar, we
are looking to create a product that
sells statewide possibly nationwide,” Louis Giansante said.
“i cannot let the opportunity
pass without thinking out loud that
this would give us Sustainable Jersey points as a innovative project.
