the Hammonton Volunteer fire De-
partment, the Hammonton Police

responded to a call of a fire at the

Chief Jones: Second-floor bedroom caught fire

“it was a second-floor bedroom
that caught on fire. We believe the
cause of the fire may have been an
electrical heating baseboard in con-
junction with combustible material
around the area,” Jones said.
One resident was displaced by
the fire, and was assisted by the
red Cross, Jones said.
“i want to commend the fire de-
partment, which arrived just over
10 minutes after being dispatched,”
Jones said.

clear the smoke out of some of the
other units, Jones said. there are
eight units in the building where
the fire occurred, Jones said.
