Joseph M . Landi
Joseph M . Landi , 86 , of Hammonton , N . J . passed away on Thursday , November 3 , 2022 in AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City . Born in Philadelphia he lived in Hammonton for 52 years . Joseph was a retired meat cutter with Colonial Beef Company in Philadelphia . He was a member of UFCW Local 56 . Joe was an avid hunter and enjoyed watching Phillies baseball and western movies .
He is survived by his loving wife , Marilyn Landi ( nee Baldi ); his son , Joseph Landi , Jr .; his daughters , Jeanine Delaney ( Andrew ), Denise Lattanzio and Michele Dilly ; his three brothers , Leonard Landi ( Dolores ), John Landi ( Maryann ) and Robert Landi ; his sister , Marlene Ziccardi ; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren .
A viewing and Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday , November 8 , 2022 , in St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish , Church of St . Joseph ' s , 226 French St ., Hammonton , N . J . Burial was in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery , Hammonton . In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project , P . O . Jesus “ Jesse ” Torres
Jesus " Jesse " Torres , 72 , of Hammonton passed away suddenly at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Division on Friday , November 4 , 2022 . Born in Ponce , Puerto Rico he was a lifelong Hammonton resident . Jesse retired from the Town of Hammonton Highway Department in 2012 . He served in the army during the Vietnam War . He enjoyed the outdoors and working in his yard .
Jesse is survived by his loving wife , Blanca Torres ( nee Tavarez ); his three children , Jessica Torres Anderson and her husband Antonio Anderson , Jesus Torres , Jr . and his wife Candice Torres , Miguel Torres and his wife , Pamela Torres ; his seven grandchildren , Adriana Anderson , Sofia Anderson , Alexis Anderson , Damian Torres , Phoenix Torres , Haisley Torres and Harper Torres ; his sisters , Nellie Caban and Santia Velez ; his brothers , Ramon Torres and Pedro Torres .
Funeral Services will be held Thursday , November 10 , 2022 , 12:30 p . m . at the Carnesale Funeral Home , 202 S . Third St ., Hammonton , NJ . Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery . Viewings will be held Wednesday , Nov . 9 , from 6 p . m . – 8 p . m . and again on Thursday Nov . 10 , from 11:30 a . m . - 12:30 p . m . Arrangements by Carnesale Funeral Home
Veterans Day Ceremony Friday , November 11
11 at 7 p . m .
The Ceremony will be held in the Hammonton Middle School auditorium on Liberty Street .
There will be speeches by local and county dignitaries , patriotic songs and the guest speaker is John Amendolia , who served one tour of duty in Afghanistan .
“ Show your support to veterans , please attend this solemn ceremony ,” John DeLucca from VFW Post 1026 said in a release .

Hit & run leads to arrests
POLICE , from Page 1
A caller reported that their vehicle had been struck by another vehicle , and the vehicle had left the scene , Friel said .
The vehicle was a black 2005 Honda Accord with a Tennessee registration and was located on Railroad Avenue , Friel said .
The driver , Leonel Lopez- Perez , 33 , of Hammonton was found to be under the influence of alcohol , was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing , Friel said .
Friel said Lopez-Perez was charged with driving while under the influence , careless driving , open container of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle , reckless driving , unregistered vehicle , unlicensed driver , uninsured vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident .
He was released as per John ’ s Law pending a court appearance in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court , Friel said .
Friel said Officer Renzo Mendoza was the investigating and arresting officer .
In a separate but related arrest , a subject at the scene observed the passenger in the vehicle , Alejandro Berrabe , 21 , of Hammonton , attempting to start the vehicle while it was parked on Railroad Avenue , Friel said .
“ Berrabe was stopped by a subject on scene and police officers ordered him to stop the conduct ,” Friel said .
He continued and was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct , Friel said .
Friel said Sgt . Thomas Percodani was the arresting officer .
In other police news , Officer Richard Carpo was on the scene of a motor vehicle stop on the 200 block of Broadway at 12:21 a . m . on November 4 when Joseph Bondiskey , 49 , of Hammonton happened upon the scene and it was discovered that he had two warrants for his arrest from Hammonton Joint Municipal Court , Friel said .
Bondiskey was taken into custody , transported to police headquarters for processing and released with new court dates in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court for the warrants , Friel said .
Friel said Carpo was the arresting officer .

Local man arrested

HAMMONTON — Police made an arrest of a local man on the 200 block of N . White Horse Pike ( Route 30 ) at 1:30 a . m . on November 6 , Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel said .
Anthony Torres , 60 , of Hammonton was asked to leave the premises by security personnel at the establishment at that location , Friel said .
“ He refused to leave and police were subsequently contacted ,” Friel said .
When Torres became noncompliant with police , he was placed under arrest , transported to police headquarters for processing , charged with defiant trespass and released pending a court date in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court , Friel said .
Friel said Officer Gordon Ellis III was the investigating and arresting officer .
