Alice Marie Gudknecht
alice Marie Gudknecht (nee Lieb), age 70 of Buena, died October 23,
2013 at atlantiCare Hospital in Pomona. alice worked at Garden State
Color Corp for 25 years and enjoyed being a nanny in her retirement years.
She was predeceased by her husband Norman r. Gudknecht. Surviving
are her children, robert Kroh (Joanne) of Bensalem, Pa., Lois Pyle (John)
of Buena, Lisa Shuhart (Joseph) of Collings Lakes; her sister, Marie Strouse
of Bellmawr; sister-in-law, Dorothy McCarthy of Buena; nine loving grandchildren and 10 loving great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth “Jane”?Hoopes
elizabeth “Jane” Hoopes (nee Capelli), 66, died October 27, 2013 after
an eight-year battle with cancer.
a lifelong resident of Hammonton, Jane was born on august 26, 1947
to Joseph and anna Capelli. Jane graduated from St. Joseph High School
in 1965. Jane worked at Whitehall laboratories for 29 years. it was there
that she met her husband Gene. Jane was a kind and generous woman who
had many friends. She loved the sport of long-distance running and was
on the Olympic torch relay team in 1984. She competed in several
marathons including the Boston and Marine Corps marathons.
She and Gene owned athlete’s Korner Sports timing System, spending
their weekends timing the races that she always enjoyed. She was an avid
sports fan, always watching the eagles and Phillies play. She loved taking trips to atlantic City
with her family and friends. Jane truly enjoyed life.
She is survived by her mother, anna Capelli; her husband, eugene; her daughter, ann Byers
(frank); two grandchildren, frankie and Gianna; brothers, Joseph (Geneva), and robert (Linda);
sisters, Joanna, Maria Clark (George), Catherine Viers (Jeff), and Patricia; four nieces; three
nephews; three great-nieces and three great-nephews.
relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Wednesday, October 30 from 7 p.m.
to 9 p.m. at the Carnesale funeral Home, 202 S. third St., Hammonton. they may also attend a
second viewing thursday, October 31 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel
Parish, Church of St. Joseph’s Church, 226 french St., Hammonton, where a Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
