HaMMONtON—at the October 20 town council meeting, residents voiced their opinions and
concerns about the Grape, Packard
and Second Streets project that has
been taking place since the beginning of spring. robert Vettese, of
town engineering firm adams,
rehmann and Heggan (arH) led
the council presentation by assuring that they are making the
process as accommodating as possible.
“to be completed, it’s going to
be in the april time frame. Ninetyfive percent of the work will be
done in the next 45 days,” Mayor
Stephen DiDonato said.
residents voiced their concerns
on the paving process regarding
environmental recycling and traffic
safety.
Linda esposito of Grape Street
and others also had concerns about
tree removal and when to expect
replantation. Vettese assured that
trees are going to be replanted either this fall or spring depending
on their varieties.
“We would really like to make
sure that they will not be damaged
by any other work that has to be
done along the road. When that is
out of the way, then the contractor
can go back and replant the trees,”
