commented on the efforts of Menzel and the Hammonton Green Committee — of which she is chair — to reschedule the event .
“ To coordinate an event like that over again is a tremendous amount of work , and I think a lot of towns would have just bagged it . They would have just said , ‘ Hey , it didn ’ t materialize ; we ’ ll push for next year ,’ but Amy and the Green Committee are very dedicated , and

During committee reports , Bachalis also gave an update from the Lake Water Quality Advisory Committee .
“ We voted to approve a resumption of the normal lake management plan protocols regarding spraying the aquatic vegetation — specifically , bladderwort . We haven ’ t decided whether it will be half the lake or a third of the lake ; that ’ s yet to be decided ,” Bachalis said .
While discussing tree removal applications , the Commission heard from Ed Overdevest , of 50 Waterfront Way . He had requested permission to remove 19 trees dead or diseased with five-plus replacements .
Overdevest explained the application to the Commission , noting that he and his wife moved to the property in December of 2021 and are in the process of redoing the landscape .
“ There are some dead trees , some diseased trees , some with bore infestations . We have some that are severely leaning , and there are a few that we ’ d like to think out a little bit . Once we get that done , we ’ ll probably be putting some replacements in different locations as part of an eventual concept of creating walking gardens in the side yard ,” Overdevest said .
Overdevest clarified the idea of “ five-plus replacements .”

“ Where we come from is very nice , but what you have here is something special . It impresses us as outsiders as being a town that works , so compliments to all the residents , the administration , etc .” Overdevest said .
