Commission Wednesday, October 17, 2018 • The Hammonton Gazette • Page 3 COMMISSION, from Page 1 firm, and Project engineer/Plan- ner David Scheidegg, of Schaeffer Nassar Scheidegg Consulting en- gineers. Kramer Beverage Com- pany recently received approval from the Hammonton Planning Board on June 20 for a subdivi- sion in relation to a land swap it completed with the town, which will consolidate Lot 46 and 54 of Block 1201 on the town tax map into a lot that will be known as Lot 46, and subdivide a portion of Lots 44 and 45 that will be owned by the town in accordance with the terms of the land swap. Bucknam said Kramer Bever- age Company is waiting to receive a certificate of filing from the Pinelands Commission for the plan so it can apply for a prelimi- nary and final site plan approval, which is tentatively scheduled to be heard during the planning board’s next meeting on Wednes- day, October 17. Once it receives all necessary approvals and constructs the ex- pansion, Bucknam said Kramer Beverage Company is planning to consolidate all of its current oper- ations to Hammonton, where the company has had a presence since it relocated operations from egg Harbor Twp. in 2002. Kramer Beverage Company will eventu- ally end leases with its current dis- tribution warehouse locations in Winslow Twp. and Lawrence Twp. before relocating those op- erations and their pre-existing jobs to Hammonton. “it’s a significant situation for the town. as a resident of the town, we’re very happy to see it. Kramer could’ve gone in the op- posite direction and reconsoli- dated in one of those other towns, but they’re here,” Bucknam said. Kramer, Bucknam and Schei- degg collectively explained the environmental issues and details that are listed throughout the eiS. To improve energy efficiency, Kramer said Hammonton’s exist- ing warehouse location recently switched to LeD lighting and will soon be doing the same to its ex- terior lighting fixtures. He also said the company is planning to install approximately 100,000 square feet of solar panels to the roof of the expanded facilities Now carrying Blush by Hayley Paige and Maggie Sottero We carry gorgeous dresses by: One Sindoni Lane, Suite C, Hammonton (609) 270-7886 • www.meadowsbridalshop.com Hayley Paige, Maggie Sottero Casablanca, Mori Lee, and so much more! Bucknam said the expansion is proposed to take place in two phases. Phase i would take place immediately upon final approval and would include the construc- tion of a 175-space parking area for the additional employee vehi- cle traffic the facility will experi- ence after the expansion. Phase i would also include a new en- tranceway for trucks to enter the facility between Commerce Way and 11th Street, which is near the proposed location of a 100-space truck parking and storage area. Storm water management amenities for the entire site would also be constructed during Phase i, according to Bucknam. all work associated with Phase ii will focus on the area immedi- ately to the right of the facility. al- though there is no estimated date for this work to begin, Bucknam said Phase ii will include the con- struction of a six-bay vehicle maintenance facility, a truck washing facility and a truck fuel- ing area with additional storage spaces for trucks undergoing serv- ice and maintenance. Bucknam said the eiS should address all possible environmental concerns the commission could have had regarding the Kramer Beverage Company expansion. “We tried to cover all the rele- vant environmental issues that this commission would typically be concerned about. This is obvi- ously a site that has received a lot of scrutiny over the years from Pinelands, the town and others in light of how we got here today,” Bucknam said. a motion to accept Kramer Beverage Company’s environ- mental impact statement as com- plete and deem it appropriate for the planning board to proceed with the matter was made by com- mission member Dr. Michael Hozik, seconded by commission member Terri Caruso-Cafiso and passed unanimously. Commission chairman Daniel Bachalis commended Bucknam, Scheidegg and Kramer for their detailed presentation on the envi- ronmental factors of the plan. “Kudos on the excellent site plan and detail sheets. Your atten- tion to environmentally-sensitive planning and implementation is beyond anything that i think we’ve ever seen here at the com- mission,” Bachalis said. in other news, commission member amy Menzel announced that the town received a $17,000 grant for a pot-in-pot tree bank that is projected to grow 111 pot- ted trees at the town’s treated ef- fluent land application site within the Boyer avenue recreation complex. “it’s really good. i hate to make a pun, but that is really ground- See TREE, Page 4 DiMeglio Septic , Est. 1975 ~ DEP 03261 ~ Paul DiMeglio Inc. 1 (800) 427-4617 ~ 561-1007 ~ 561-3597 491 White Horse Pike • Ancora, NJ • Grease Trap Cleaning • Portable Toilets • Septic Certifications • Jetting Service
