HAMMONtON—A special
meeting of town council was held
on October 6 for a public hearing
for the Green Acres Funding application for the acquisition of the St.
Martin de Porres Church property
on egg Harbor road. the church
is located near Hammonton Lake
Park.
“the reason we’re here this
evening is for a public information
session on an application to Green
Acres that the town is putting in for
the purchase of what we all know
as the St. Martin’s property,” Dave
Cella, of town engineering firm
Adams, rehmann and Heggan
said.
the application is being made
for $1.5 million, according to
Cella.
“the application for funding is
to acquire the property, to complete
the appraisals, surveys that are
needed … the value requested was
$1.5 million, that was based off of
the listed price, not an appraised
price,” Cella said.
Democratic council candidate
rock Colasurdo came before
council to discuss the possibility of
negotiating the buying price down
due to what he said were issues
with the building such as a leaky

HAMMONtON—the Second
Annual Hammonton Fall Festival
presented by the Hammonton rotary Club was a weekend-long
event that took place on Saturday,
October 4 and Sunday, October 5
at the Mount Carmel fairgrounds
on third and French Streets. With
great food, live music, crafters and
more than 40 craft beers and
ciders, plus free admission and
parking, the public enjoyed a very
successful Sunday thanks to a picturesque, fall day after shakier
weather effected attendance during the first day of the event on
Saturday.
An overcast Saturday didn’t
deter Melanie, ryann and Donald
Buckholz of Sicklerville from
coming to the festival to enjoy the
beer selections offered. it was the
first time the Buckholzs have been
to the Hammonton Fall Festival.
