grams. robert Schenk is a proud
third-generation member. His
grandfather was involved with the
club throughout his life, and his
father was the club president for
more than 25 years. Schenk is
proud of the things they have
planned for the upcoming months
and the improvements that have
been made by him and his group
members. a large number of these
improvements took place at the
Lake Park.
“We will be hosting a chicken
barbecue on October 11 at the
Lake Park. it has been more than
15 years since we used the pavilion facility. the mayor will be
there, and we will honor the 18
people who have donated their
time and money to these park renovations. We are going to have
free music playing throughout the
day on the renovated bandstand.
there is now 5,000 square feet of
sod with full irrigation, so people
can bring their lawn chair and
come enjoy themselves. it’s open
to all of Hammonton,” Schenk
said.
the renovations at the Lake
Park will also be put to use during
next year’s sesquicentennial celebrations. Newly painted benches
and pavilions will be open for use
during all the festivities. there
will be a picnic festival following
the fourth of July Parade where
people can eat at food trucks,
enjoy live music coming from the
new stage and play games with
their friends and family.
