Thomas Iuliucci
Thomas Iuli ucci, 95, of Waterford, died Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at his home.
Tom was born and raised in Waterford. He served in the U.S. Army during World War
II. He was a retired mechanic for Campbell Soup Company in Camden, where he worked
for more than 35 years.
Tom is survived by his daughter, Ida Heggan of Waterford; his sister, Mina Berenato of
Hammonton, and his grandson, Robert R. Heggan Jr. and his wife, Colleen.
Family and friends attended Funeral Services Saturday, September 30 at the Marinella
Funeral Home, 102 N. Third St., Hammonton. Entombment was in Greenmount Cemetery,
124 S.First Road, Hammonton.
Donation may be made to Hammonton Cancer Foundation, P.O.Box 1066, Hammonton,
NJ 08037.

Joyce Tell
Joyce Tell, 91, died Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Green Valley Nursing Home in
Perry, Oklahoma.
A long time Perry resident, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of
Perry.
She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Anthony Tell Jr. She is survived by her
two sons, Peter Anthony (Pete) Tell and his wife, Connie, Eureka Springs, Ariz., and
William (Bill) Tell and his wife, Dukie, Perry, Okla.; one daughter, Joyce Tell, Stillwater,
Okla.; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a number of great-great grandchil-
dren.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Eva Marie Figueroa
Eva Marie Figueroa, 49, of Blackwood and formerly of Collings
Lakes, died on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, in Cooper University
Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Collings Lakes, she was a lifelong South Jersey resident. Eva
was a line supervisor with Gerresheimer Glass of Vineland.
She is survived by her husband, Louis Figueroa Sr.; her children, An-
thony and his wife, Nahomi of Vineland, Louis Figueroa Jr. and his fi-
ancée, Dion of Blackwood, Timothy Figueroa and his companion, Nicole
of Vineland, Jennifer Figueroa of Cherry Hill; her sisters, Angela Sim-
mons, Faydeen Mauger-Greenly both of Blackwood; her brothers, Frank
D. Mauger Jr., James M. Mauger both of Collings Lakes; nine grand-
children, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Life Celebration will be announced shortly.

Shirley Vlasak Baltz
Shirley Vlasak Baltz, 95, of Hammonton and formerly of Bowie, Md.,
died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on September 29,
2017.
Shirley was born on August 15, 1922, in Chicago, Ill., to the late
Alfhild Marie and William Vlasak. She heeded the call to serve during
WWII and enlisted in the Navy WAVES. Prior to leaving for basic train-
ing, she met a handsome naval aviator, Ensign George Ephraim Baltz,
who was shipping out to the South Pacific. They corresponded during
the war and were married on July 28, 1945, until his death on September
28, 1992.
An enthusiast of early American history, Shirley became fascinated
by Colonial Maryland history when she and George moved there in 1950. She was a tour
guide in historic Annapolis and volunteered at many local historical sites as a researcher,
docent and even a participant in many archaeological digs. She was named the Bowie City
Historian in 1982.
Along with many articles and essays, she authored books on the history of Annapolis,
Quays of the City, on the history of her beloved Belair Mansion, A Chronicle of Belair,
and a resource for local genealogical research entitled Prince George’s County Maryland,
Marriages & Deaths in Nineteenth Century Newspapers.
She is survived by her children, George Baltz (Anne) of Fairfield, Pa., Melanie Murphy
(Dan) of Nashville, Tenn., Cheryl Prakash (Stephen) of Hammonton, and Leslie Kendus
(Mike) of Cherry Hill; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Her family wishes to express their gratitude and appreciation to her caregivers and to
Compassus Hospice.
Visitation will be on Sunday, October 8 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Carnesale Funeral
Home, 202 South Third Street, Hammonton, NJ. Private burial will be at the Cheltenham
Veterans Cemetery in Maryland.
Donations may be made to Friends of the Belair Estate, 12207 Tulip Grove Drive,
Bowie, MD 20715, in memory of Shirley Baltz.

Police made the following arrests
in late September, Hammonton Po-
lice Lt. Kevin Friel said.
• On September 23 at 7:05 p.m.,
Officer David Reustle went to an
individual’s house, and the subject
of the warrant was not home. The
subject subsequently went to police
headquarters inquiring about the
warrant for his arrest, Friel said.
The subject, Joseph Campanella,
20, of Winslow Twp., was arrested
by police at the police department
and charged with retaliation
against a witness, Friel said.
Campanella was transported to
the Atlantic County Jail and
Reustle was the arresting officer,
Friel said.
• On September 23 at 7:59 p.m.,
Cpl. Chris Clements and K-9 Offi-
cer Robert Zbikowski investigated
a suspicious vehicle at the corner
of W. Orchard Street and West End
Avenue. As it was being checked,
and in speaking with the subjects
in the vehicle, the passenger in the
vehicle, Christian Diaz, 21, of
Hammonton, Zbikowski detected
the strong odor of marijuana.
When asked, Diaz advised he had
marijuana in his groin ar ea, and a
digital scale in his pocket, Friel
said.
The digital scale and the mari-
juana were handed to police and
Diaz was charged with possession
of controlled dangerous substance
marijuana under 50 grams and pos-
session of drug paraphernalia (the
scale), Friel said.
Diaz was released pending a
court date, Friel said.
• On September 24 at 3:03 a.m.,
at the intersection of 12th and
Front Streets, a suspicious person
was observed sitting on the bench
at the Front Street pavilion, Friel
said.
Juan Negron, 28, of Mullica
Twp., was found to have active
warrants, including an active war-
rant from Hammonton for $1,000,
and an active warrant from Ham-
monton from the New Jersey State
Police, also in the amount of
$1,000.
A small glass pipe used for in-
haling crack cocaine was found on
his person, Friel said. Negron was
charged on the possession of drug
paraphernalia (glass pipe) and
lodged in the Atlantic County Jail
on the two warrants, Friel said. Friel said Officer Brandan
Campbell was the arresting officer.
• On September 24 at 11:29
p.m., at the intersection of French
Street and North Packard, Emanuel
Delgado-Villegas, 20, of Ham-
monton, was the subject of a motor
vehicle stop executed by Officer
John Amendolia III, Friel said.
Friel said the subject was in pos-
session of green leafy vegetation
believed to be marijuana.
Friel said Delgado-Villegas was
charged with being an uninsured
motorist, driving with a suspended
vehicle registration and possession
of controlled dangerous substance
marijuana under 50 grams.
Amendolia was the arresting of-
ficer, Friel said.
POLICE, from Page 1 arrested in reference to thefts from
several shed and secondary stor-
age buildings in town. He was
charged with receiving stolen
property and theft by deception in
reference to pawning stolen prop-
erty at a local pawn shop, Friel
said.
Rodriguez was picked up on the
outstanding warrant by Class II
Officer Gordon Ellis III and trans-
ported to the Atlantic County Jail.
The charges were issued by Ellis
and Det. Sgt. Edward Slimm,
Friel said.
• On September 27 at 8:21 p.m.,
on the 600 block of Line Street,
there was a subject possibly in a
vacant building, and the police
checked the building at the re-
quest of the building’s owner.
Michael Skillen, 35, of Ham-
monton, was located within the
building, Friel said.
Skillen had an outstanding
warrant from Washington Twp.
for $1,338, Chesilhurst for $300
and Waterford Twp. for $305,
Friel said.
Skillen was taken into custody
by Sgt. Sam Angello, who was
the investigating officer, and was
turned over to Washington Twp.
police on the warrant, Friel said.
• On September 29 at 8:02
a.m., police were notified about a
suspicious person in the area of
Front and Line Streets, Friel said.
Arrest in hit-and-run
ton, Friel said.
Lopez was arrested and charged
with assault by auto, harassment,
disorderly conduct and was issued
summonses for driving while
under the influence of alcohol
(DWI), reckless driving, failure to
report an accident, leaving the
scene of an accident, open alco-
holic beverage container, unin-
sured motorist, failure to exhibit
registration, unlicensed motorist
and careless driving, Friel said.
Friel said Lopez was trans-
ported to the Atlantic County Jail
in lieu of bail.
Officer David Reustle is the in-
vestigating officer, Friel said.
In other police news, police
made several arrests last week, in-
cluding the following, Friel said.
