George Paul Martynuik

George Paul Martynuik of Hammonton passed away on January 25 , 2024 . He was born April 21 , 1943 in Trenton , New Jersey , attending Saint Hedwig ’ s Parish and school . George graduated from Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville , N . J . where he played football . He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam . Following his military service , George attended Trenton Junior College and Delaware Valley College . During this time George met a young teacher , Carol Bonn , after accidentally spilling a drink on her at a nightclub in New Hope , Pennsylvania . They married in 1968 and began their life together in Bucks County , Pennsylvania . To the end of his life , George referred to Carol as “ the best thing that ever happened to me ”. Carol was reluctant to leave Bucks County when George had a new job opportunity in New Jersey , until George showed her the house he had found . That house became their family home in Hammonton . George ’ s career as a Boiler and Refrigeration Operating Engineer spanned years at Mrs . Paul ’ s Kitchens , Mrs . Smith ’ s , Lenox China , RCA and Ocean Spray , with the last 13 years of his career spent at Bridor USA , a manufacturer of bakery products . He was an avid sports fan who particularly enjoyed watching the Eagles or anyone who was beating the Cowboys . He was a curious learner and reader , an inveterate “ Jeopardy ” watcher , and the rare individual who maintained lifelong connections with many friends from his Trenton childhood .
George was preceded in death by his parents , Antony and Wanda Strycharz Martynuik ; and by his brother , Anthony Martynuik . George is survived by his wife of 55 years , Carol ; their children , Christopher of Toms River , New Jersey , David of Pipersville , Pennsylvania ( Laurie Nicholson ), and Jennifer of Albuquerque , New Mexico ; as well as his brother-in-law , Thomas Bonn of Ithaca , New York ; three nieces and three nephews .
George was a member of Saint Mary of Mount Carmel Parish . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish Church of Saint Anthony of Padua , 285 Route 206 in Hammonton on Friday , February 2 , 2024 at 1 p . m . Burial in Scranton will be private and scheduled at the convenience of the family . In lieu of flowers , the family requests contributions be made to the Association for the Multiple Impaired Blind 35 Beaverson Blvd . Building # 13 Brick , NJ 08723 ( AMIB . net ).

Dora Berenato ( nee Brogno ), 77 , of Hammonton , N . J . passed away Thursday January 25 , 2024 . She was born and raised in Italy and came to Hammonton in the early 1970s and worked for Whitehall Labs for many years .
Dora was predeceased by her husband , Joseph Berenato son of Giuseppe and Catherine Berenato ; her siblings , Gina , Enos , Vanda , Yolanda , Elena , Amalia , Tonino , Francesco , and Elio ; and her in-laws , Anthony , Domenic , Frank , John , Nicholas , Henry , Minnie , and Rose Berenato , Anna Varallo , and Mary Puglisi . She is survived by her loving son , Ronald Berenato ; her sister , Amelia Grandinetti ; and nephew , Frank Martino III ( Kathy ); and many nieces , nephews , and cousins abroad .

Carmen S . Midili , Sr .

Carmen S . Midili , Sr ., 68 , passed away on January 23 , 2024 , surrounded by his family . Lifelong resident of Waterford , NJ . Beloved son of Josephine ( nee Midure ) and Anthony Midili of Waterford . Carmen worked for his family business , Midili And Sons Service Station . He was also employed by Rosedale Liquors . Carmen enjoyed cars , crabbing and gardening .
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother , Ronald . Carmen is survived by his son , Carmen S . Midili Jr . ( Brooke ) of Hammonton ; two grandchildren , Stella and Alessio ; siblings , Anthony Midili ( Dottie ) and Dr . Joseph Midili ( Eileen ); and several nieces and nephews .

Ruth J . Fuhrmeister ( nee Johnson ), 95 , of Hammonton , N . J . passed away peacefully Friday , January 26 , 2024 . She was born and raised in Bellmawr , N . J . and graduated from Haddon Heights High School in 1946 . She worked as a Bookkeeper for Camera Sims & Associates in Cherry Hill for over 20 years . Ruth loved traveling in her Winnebago .
She is predeceased by her husband , James Fuhrmeister ; and her parents , Charles and Mabel Johnson . Ruth is survived by her daughter , Nancy Ruth Capoferri and her husband Joseph ; sons , Clyde Fuhrmeister and his wife Lyndell , Roy Fuhrmeister and his wife

January 26 , 2024 , at her residence . She was born and raised in Egg Harbor City and graduated from Egg Harbor City HS in 1941 . Her favorite past time was cheering her children , grandchildren and great grandchildren at sporting events and following them all over the East coast . She enjoyed gardening and cooking and was very proud of her German heritage as she still enjoyed a cold beer at age 100 . She was surely a child of depression as she continued her frugal values of that time . She was also a fixture at the Penny Store on School House Lane run by her two aunts and grandmother . Here is where she met the love of her lifetime , Donny . She enjoyed watching figure skating as it brought back memories of when she skated backwards on one leg carving figure eight on the Egg Harbor City and Hammonton Lakes .
Mildred is predeceased by her husband , Domenic Longo ; son , Dennis Longo ; brothers ,
Joseph and Richard Husta ; and great-granddaughter , Eva Longo . She is survived by her sons , Jeffrey Longo Sr . ( Nancy ), and Timothy Longo ; grandsons , Jeffrey Longo Jr . ( Kelly ), Matthew Longo ( Laura ), and Kevin Longo ( Angela ); and her sister-in-law , Rita Husta . Proud and loving great-grandmother of Brett , Emma , Sarah , Megan , Luke , Elena and James .

Mayor Bruce Crowe dies ; was 77

Atlantic County Fifth District Commissioner James Bertino knew Crowe for a few years when Crowe served in Mullica Twp . as a council person and mayor .
“ He was a man who knew his community . He loved his country . He cared about the people he represented , and he was passionate to do the right thing ,” Bertino said .
Bertino worked with Crowe on a variety of issues that impacted Mullica Twp . residents .
“ We worked on roads . We worked on bridge work . We worked on drainage . We worked on projects ... We worked on resolving quite a few issues together ,” Bertino said .
According to Bertino , Crowe was a good family man .
“ He was a terrific human being , a good family man . His love for his community and serving the people he represented really made him a special man , and I know he ’ ll be missed ,” Bertino said .
The Mullica Twp . Municipal Alliance expressed their sadness of the mayor ’ s passing in a Facebook post .
“ On behalf of the Mullica Township Municipal Alliance we are saddened by the passing of Mayor Bruce Crowe . He supported and attended all of our events and will be dearly missed . Bruce ’ s legacy will live forever in our memories . His family is in our thoughts and prayers ,” the Facebook post read .
The Atlantic County Republicans also made a Facebook post .

According to Crowe ’ s obituary , “ Bruce was born on November 11 , 1946 to Daniel and Laura Crowe in Lower Bank , N . J . After school , Bruce enlisted in the army during the Vietnam War before moving on to work at Lenox China . He then served on the Mullica Town Council and as the Mayor for many years .
“ Bruce always was , and always will be , a loyal Dolphins fan and a lover of animals .”
Bruce is predeceased by his father and mother , Daniel and Laura Crowe .
He is survived by his wife , Marylou Crowe ; his children , Bruce Crowe Jr ., Kimberly McConnell ( Bill ) and Daniel Crowe , Timothy Crowe ; his sister , Diane Johnson ; his grandchildren , Hayley McConnell , Britney McConnell and Billy McConnell ; his niece , Tammy Rickert ( Jon ); niece , Jamie Johnson and nephew , Jimmy Johnson and his great-niece , Kylie Rickert .
A visitation was held on Jan . 30 from 10 a . m . until noon at the Wimberg Funeral Home 400 Liverpool Avenue , EHC , NJ 08215 . A service was held at noon at the funeral home . Burial followed at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery , Estell Manor , N . J .
