Joseph Osciak

Joseph Osciak , 63 , of Hammonton passed away on Friday , September 10 , 2021 at Royal Suites in Galloway Township , N . J .
Born in Drexel Hill , Pa ., he grew up in Clifton Heights , Pa . moving to Hammonton in 1976 . He was a graduate of Upper Darby High School Class of 1976 . Joe was a printer by trade , but his true passion was photography with several of his pictures being published in magazines , books , brochures and online . He bled green and yellow for his Green Bay Packers .
Joe is predeceased by his father , Edward N . Osciak Sr . He is survived by his mother , Leatrice “ Lee ” Osciak ; his sister , Linda Slimm ( Edward ); his brothers , Edward Osciak ( Charlene ), David Osciak ( Susan ), Paul Osciak ( Denise ) and John Osciak ( Toni Marie ); and numerous nieces and nephews .
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family . Memorial donations in Joe ’ s memory may be made to the Our Lady of Mt . Carmel Society , PO Box 182 , Hammonton , NJ 08037 .

John Wayne Lewis

John Wayne Lewis , 70 , of Sierra Vista , Ariz . passed away and returned home to the Lord on June 29 . He had been in poor health for a number of years and finally succumbed to lung cancer .
John was born in Hammonton , N . J . to the late Carl A . and Helen M . Lewis . He graduated from Hammonton High School in 1968 .
John joined the U . S . Army in 1977 and served proudly for 15 years before having to retire due to injuries received in a military vehicle accident . During that time , he reached the rank of SSG and received numerous medals and awards .
John married his wife of 40 years , Brenda , in 1981 in Norfolk , Va . He was a long-time member of the American Legion . John enjoyed gold prospecting when he was able ; after he became disabled , he wore out his thumbs playing games and doing social media on his smartphone .
John is survived by his devoted wife , Brenda , and children , Travis of Sierra Vista , Michael of Austin , Texas and Brandon of Pittsburgh . He also had seven grandchildren .
A private committal service was held at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery on July 2 , 2021 , with military honors . There will be a Celebration of Life at the American Legion at a later date . In lieu of flowers , a donation may be made to the Salvation Army in John ’ s memory or you may give to a charity of your choosing .

Philip M . Henely

Philip M . Henely , 64 , of Hammonton passed away peacefully on Friday , September 17 , 2021 with his loving family by his side at his residence .
Born in Deland , Fla . he lived in Hammonton for over 50 years . Phil formerly worked for Kramer Beverage Company in Hammonton .
He is predeceased by his mother , Olive Henely ( nee Radford ) and his Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Eustace Radford .
Phil is survived by his loving wife of 37 years , Shelley ( nee Cassidy ); his two sons , Sean Henely ( Devon ) and Eric Henely ( Megan ); his grandson , Frankie ; his brother , Michael Henely ( Sandra ); his niece , Kara Fyffe ( Robert ); and his sisters-in-law , Darcy Hulme ( Jim ), Melanie Sutton ( Jeff ) and Joelle Pierce ( Mitch ).
Funeral services were held Tuesday , September 21 , 2021 , 5:30 p . m . at the Carnesale Funeral Home , 202 S . Third St ., Hammonton , N . J ., where a visitation was held from 3:30 p . m . to 5:30 p . m . Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family . Stop becomes a warrant arrest

HAMMONTON — A motor vehicle stop led to a warrant arrest at 6:25 a . m . on September 15 , Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel said . The stop was made on the 200 block of S . White Horse Pike ( Route 30 ), Friel said .

POLICE , from Page 1 street , then was sprinting across the street attempting to cross U . S . Route 54 in an area not designated for pedestrian crossing , resulting in him being impacted by the 2012 Ford Escape in the northbound lane of travel . He was transported by ambulance and later succumbed to his injuries ,” Friel said .
Mastrogiacomo was also transported by ambulance for medical treatment of his injuries , Friel said .
Friel said Cpl . James Pinto is the investigating officer .
The crash was the second fatal accident regarding a pedestrian in less than a week . On the evening of September 11 , a woman was killed when she was struck by a vehicle as she was crossing the White Horse Pike ( Route 30 ).
In other police news , following up on an erratic driver call , police made a driving while under the influence ( DWI ) arrest at 5:03 p . m . on September 15 on the 400 block of 12th Street , Friel said .
K-9 Officer Jonathan O ’ Neil stopped a vehicle driven by Michelle Smolarski , 43 , of Sayerville who was found to be operating her vehicle under the influence , Friel said .
She was transported to Atlanti- Care Atlantic City for evaluation , Friel said .
Smolarski was processed and released as per John ’ s Law and received the following motor vehicle violations : driving while under the influence , obstructing

Larry J . “ Bubba ” Lockwood

Larry J . “ Bubba ” Lockwood , 45 , of Mullica Twp . N . J . passed away suddenly September 16 , 2021 at Cooper University Hospital in Camden .
He was born and raised in Hammonton and graduated from Hammonton High School in 1995 . He worked for several years in the construction field and for various Tree Service companies and for the last five years he worked for the Hamilton Twp . MUA in Mays Landing , N . J .
Larry had a love for the outdoors which included hunting , fishing , trail riding and mudding his 4 x 4 with the Off Road Mud Group Misfits 4 x 4 in Salem County , N . J .
He is survived by his two daughters , Brooklyn and Madison Lockwood ; their mother , Helyn Lockwood ; his companion , Melissa Smith ; parents , Gordy and Janie Bradbury Lockwood of Mays Landing , N . J .; and siblings , Gary Lockwood ( Colleen ) of Hammonton , N . J ., Kristy Jones ( Claude ) of Folsom , N . J ., Jamie Lockwood ( Filiany ) of Gibbstown , N . J . and Mishelle Perona of Galloway , N . J . He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews , many aunts , uncles , cousins and friends . A warrant arrest was made at 6:13 p . m . on September 18 on the 400 block of N . Second Street , Friel said .
Officer Travis Hoffman observed Kristian Rueda , 22 , of Hammonton , who was found to have an active NCIC warrant , Friel said .
Rueda was placed under arrest , transported to the Hammonton Police Department for processing and transported to the Atlantic County Jail on the warrant , Friel said .
Hoffman was the investigating and arresting officer , Friel said .
