Town-Wide Yard Sale coming on October 1

by Sean Friel
GAZETTE STAFF WRITER
HAMMONTON — On Saturday
October 1 , Hammonton will be holding its annual fall Town-Wide
Yard Sale , featuring many different participating homes .
The Town-Wide Yard Sale is one of the most anticipated events of the season , with unique items and clothing being sold outside in community members ’ front yards .
The Hammonton Drug Alliance and Hammonton Family Success
Center have held a Town-Wide
Yard Sale already this year , which
took place on June 4 . The event was a major success for the organizers , and they hope to repeat the success for the upcoming yard sale .
The fall yard sale will last from
9 a . m . to 2 p . m . on October 1 this year ; and the date was chosen to coincide with the town ’ s bulk trash
pickup times .
The Gazette spoke with Mary Young , one of the organizers for the Town-Wide Yard Sale , who gave more information on the event .
“ We are not running it at the same time as the Recycling Central
, which we normally like to do . It ’ s just a big event through downtown , and gives everyone upcycling and recycling . We had to do it to line up with bulky trash , so that ’ s why we got out of sync ,”
Young explained .
