HAMMONTON — The Red Barn Corn Maze will be opening on September 15 , and is the first of its kind at that site . It is the first time that the Red Barn Cafe has attempted an attraction like this , and they are excited to see how it goes . Vincenzo Penza , a member of the Penza family , discussed the production of the corn maze , and why the maze was built .
“ It ’ s a 7-foot , 7-acre corn field with two mazes , an easy maze and an advanced maze . It ’ s designed by a computer and then they get the corn planted first . Once the corn gets to a certain height , you have to mark out the maze on the corn field , killing just the plants where the rows are ,” Penza said .
The process can take a long amount of time if not done
HAMMONTON — Frank Joseph Bartolone Sr ., of Hammonton , whose passion for life was shown through his outstanding dedication to family , faith , education , career and civic life , died peacefully at age 88 on August 12 , surrounded by his loving family .
