Pasquale “Pat” S. Rodio
Pasquale “Pat” S. Rodio, age 93, of Hammonton, died surrounded by
his family on Thursday August 30, 2018 at Atlantic City Medical Center.
Pat was an expert transmission specialist for Desimone Cadillac and
Service Sales for 39 years. He possessed numerous skills within his craft
and was recognized and awarded by General Motors. Pat was a role
model, father, and friend to all that knew him. Pat and his wife Angie
opened their doors for friends and family to visit their home. In true Italian
fashion, they were always ready to cook and entertain at a moment’s no-
tice, especially during the Mt. Carmel Festival, one of Pat and Angie’s
favorite times of the year.
Pat was a fourth degree knight for the Knights of Columbus both Pallotti Assembly and
Council # 3471 in Hammonton. He was a member of the Holy Name Society as well as the
Hammonton Regular Republican Club. Pat was a proud member of the VFW Passalaqua
Post #1026 of Hammonton. Pat served his country in the US Navy during World War II. He
earned nine battle stars while his ship was under attack in the South Pacific.
Pat was predeceased by his wife, Angelina (nee Rizzotte); his parents, Antonio and Anna
“Carmina,”; brothers, Eugene and Louis and sisters, Ida, Pauline, Lucy, Mary, Antoinette,
Margaret, Alice and Anna. Pat was the loving father of Anthony (Judy), Patrick (Kim), and
Roseanne; a devoted grandfather of Meghan, Mark (Kristie), Anthony (Danielle), Kyle,
Jared (Megan) and Kirsten and a beloved great-grandfather of Johnny, Justin, Jason, and
Savannah.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday, September 6, from 7 p.m.
to 9 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Marinella Funeral Home, 102 N. Third St.,
Hammonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, September 7 at 10 a.m. at St.
Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish – St. Joseph Church, Third & French Sts., Hammonton. Burial
will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 124 S. First Rd., Hammonton. Donations can be
made in Pat’s name to St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, 226 French St., Hammonton, NJ
08037.

Robert Duane Roush
Robert Duane Roush of Sun City, S.C. and formerly of Folsom, N.J., died on Wednesday
August 15, 2018 at home, of pancreatic cancer.
The husband of Margaret Eckhardt Roush, Robert was born in Benton Harbor Michigan
on August 6, 1931 to Harry and Louise Gross Roush. He was the third of four boys. Bob
grew up in Three Rivers, Michigan and graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1949,
having played on the football, basketball and golf teams. Bob was in the Michigan National
Guard for three years and the U.S. Navy for four years. He graduated from the University
of Michigan School of Business Administration in 1959. That is where he and Margaret met
and married, in 1957. Bob was employed with American Airlines from 1959 – 1962. Then
in 1962 he joined IBM, where he became a Senior Programmer and traveled all over the
world, in his work. He lived, most of that time, in White Plains, NY enjoining in his spare
time golf and sailing on Long Island Sound. He retired from IBM in 1987 and moved to
N.J. In 1988 he and Margaret moved to Hilton Head, S.C. Having played many sports, he
focused on golf and was employed by the Sea Pines Company as a starter and ranger. In a
few years he joined the Sea Pines Country Club where he enjoyed the competition of tour-
naments. In 1994 they moved to Essex, Conn. and in 2001 moved to Bradenton, Fla. In
2005, he moved back to the Lowcountry and Sun City, S.C. Here he enjoyed golfing, making
and sailing radio controlled sailboats and making music. He played his ukulele with the
Strummers and sometimes the piano, when they would entertain at the nursing homes
He was predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Norman. He is survived by his oldest
brother, Wally (wife Jackie) of Fall Brook, California; his wife, Margaret; his son, Robert
(wife Kathy) of Fairfield, Conn.; daughter, Katherine of home; grandchildren, Christina,
Daniel, Timothy and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a private graveside service at the convenience of the family. The family
asks that if you like to make a donation, in Bob’s memory, to Hospice Care of the Low-
country, P.O. Box 3827, Bluffton, SC 29910, or to any charity of your choice.

Clarence J. “Barney” Peterson
Clarence J. “Barney” Peterson Jr., 94, of Mullica Township died on
Tuesday, August 28, 2018 in AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Main-
land Division.
Born in Hammonton on May 13, 1924, he was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Peterson was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member
of the VFW Post 5043 and the Nesco Fire Company. Mr. Peterson was a
carpenter by trade and he owned and operated Peterson and Mattle, Inc.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Kathleen Mary Peterson
(Nee Helm); his son, Jack Clarence Peterson; his daughter, Deborah Pe-
terson; one sister, Margaret Wescoat; five grandchildren, Chelsey, Megan,
Anna, Jack Jr., Nicholas; two great grandchildren, Nicholas and Madalynn and his two sis-
ters-in-law, Jane Peterson and Nancy Peterson.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018 at the Carnesale Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the New Columbia-Nesco United
Methodist Church, 3551 Nesco Road, Hammonton, NJ 08037.

Hammonton Police make several arrests

after an accident, Friel said.
“The subject was involved in an
accident, found to be under the
influence and arrested for same,”
Friel said.
Friel said Ryan Rush, 29, of
Hammonton, was transported to
AtlantiCare Satellite Emergency
Department (SED) due to the
injuries sustained from the
accident. Rush also had an active
warrant from Hammonton in the
amount of $1,000.
Because he was sent to
AtlantiCare for treatment, another
individual was contacted and he
was released into that person’s
custody as per John’s Law, Friel
said.
Rush was charged with driving
while under the influence, reckless
driving, careless driving, failure to
maintain a lane, open alcoholic
beverage container in the vehicle,
failure to install Interlock or
operating a vehicle without
Interlock and failure to notify
change of address, Friel said.
Friel said Rush was released on
his own recognizance due to the
fact he was receiving medical
treatment. Rush will be appearing
in the Hammonton Municipal
Court, Friel said.
Friel said John Amendolia III
was the arresting officer.
• On August 28 at 7:32 p.m., on
the prime block of Front Street,
Kristina
Meyers,
32,
of
Hammonton was found to have an
outstanding warrant from Camden
in the amount of $500, Friel said.
Camden City Court was
contacted and she was released on
her own recognizance with a court
date in Camden to be set, Friel said.
K-9 Officer Robert Zbikowski
was the arresting officer, Friel said.
• On August 28 at 10:12 p.m., a
red 1986 Chevrolet Corvette was
observed as parked unoccupied in
the middle of the roadway at the
intersection of West End Avenue
and Orchard Street with the keys in
the vehicle’s ignition, Friel said.
Friel said Officer Kyle
Ambrozaitis, who found the
vehicle parked in the roadway, was
able to locate the driver, Roberto
Osorio-Cruz, 50, of Hammonton,
who did not have a valid driver’s
license.
“When he was asked for his
identification, he went into his
pocket and a folded piece of paper
came out of it. Inside the paper was
a pink in color straw that fell to the
blacktop, and inside the straw was
a white powdery substance
believed to be a controlled
dangerous substance,” Friel said.

HAMMONTON—A special meeting of Hammonton Town Council
will be held on Monday, September 10 at 7 p.m. at town hall.
According to the advertisement for the meeting, the reason for the
meeting is “To Discuss Amendment to the Town’s Flood Damage Pre-
vention Ordinance #029-2018.”
The advertisement also states, “Additional items may be discussed as
deemed necessary and official action may or may not be taken during
the open portion of the meeting.”

for processing, charged with
possession of drug paraphernalia
and received the following
summonses: Improper parking,
parked within 50 feet of a stop
sign, abandonment of vehicle and
delaying traffic, Friel said.
Ambrozaitis was the arresting
officer, Friel said.
• On August 29 at 8:03 a.m. on
the 500 block of Old Forks Road,
several vehicles had items taken
from within them, Friel said.
At approximately 1:58 a.m., an
unknown subject opened unlocked
motor vehicles and took cash
laying in the center console, then
went to a neighbor’s house and
opened three vehicles there, but did
not take anything from those
vehicles, Friel said.
The subject was described as a
young, Caucasian male in his early
20s with his hair in a ponytail, Friel
said.
Sgt. Thomas Percodani is the
investigating officer, Friel said.

lock all car doors, garage doors and
shed doors and windows to help
prevent thefts, Friel said.
• On September 1 at 5:37 p.m.
on the 700 block of N. Third Street,
a caller stated that they discovered
their shed was burglarized and
equipment was taken from a
padlocked shed where the padlock
had been cut according to the
shed’s owners, Friel said.
The theft took place between 2
p.m. on August 30 and 5 p.m. on
September 1, Friel said.
An orange in color Echo weed-
whacker valued at $200, an orange
in color Husqvarna chainsaw
valued at $300 and a new “in the
box” leaf blower, unknown make
and model, valued at $100 were
reported as stolen, Friel said.
