Vincent D . DeLaurentis Sr .

Vincent D . DeLaurentis Sr ., 88 , of Hammonton passed away at his residence on Tuesday , July 27 , 2021 .
Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong resident . Vince was selected to the All State Football team in high school . He went on to play for the University of Alabama from 1950 - 1954 . In 1953 he played in the Cotton Bowl and in 1954 he played in the Orange Bowl . He was a member of the Bakers Semi Pro Football team . Vince was a teacher in the Hammonton School District from 1958 - 1993 . He was a Past President of the Hammonton Education Association . He coached high school football , baseball , boys ’ basketball and girls ’ basketball . Vince and his late wife , Marie , were the supervisors at Hammonton Lake Park for almost 30 years . Together they started Camp Tuscaloosa there and later on READ Preschool . He will always be remembered through the positive impact he has had on so many lives through his teaching , coaching and mentoring . He has been a part of not only his family ’ s happy childhood memories , but of generation ’ s .
Vince is survived by his three children and their spouses , Dawn and Admiral Karl Schultz , Dina and John Moorhead and Retired Captain Vincent D . and Joan DeLaurentis ; 10 grandchildren , Joshua , Johnny , Mindy , Kelsey , Lindsey , Vincent III , Annaliese , Ariana , Eric and Zachary ; and four great-grandchildren .

Armond R . DeCicco

Armond R . DeCicco , 65 , of Buena , passed away on Friday , July 23 , 2021 with his family by his side .
Armond was born in Camden , N . J . and lived in Hammonton most of his life . He worked as a floor supervisor at Caesars Casino in Atlantic City , a service operator at Whitehall Laboratories in Hammonton , a laborer at Statewide Highway & Safety in Folsom and head of maintenance and facilities at Hamilton Township Board of Education in Mays Landing . He also owned and operated his own Landscaping Company .
Armond enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams , the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles , and loved to support the local St . Joseph ’ s Wildcats football team . Spending time with Potsy was his favorite thing to do . Armond is predeceased by his parents , Armond C . and Rita DeCicco ( nee Duffy ). He is survived by his children , Danielle Lind ( Mike ) and Chad DeCicco ( Larry ); his brother , Chic DeCicco ( Sue ); two grandchildren , McKenna and MJ ; and his beloved dog , Potsy .
A visitation and funeral service were held Thursday , July 29 , 2021 at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N . Third St . Hammonton , NJ 08037 . Burial will be at the convenience of the family .

Rosemarie Damico

Rosemarie Damico ( nee Galletta ), 83 , of Hammonton , N . J . passed away peacefully Sunday , August 1 , 2021 at home .
She was born in Philadelphia and raised in Hammonton . Rosemarie was the owner and operator of FAD Lines in Hammonton for many years . She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society , Soroptimist International and the Red Hat Society .
Rosemarie is predeceased by her parents , Alfred and Rose ( Fumo ) Galletta ; and her husband , Frank Damico .
She is survived by her children , Frank Damico ( Denise ), Lisa Puentes ( Peter ) and Denise Monzo ( Anthony ) all of Hammonton ; and brother , Alfred Galletta . She is the loving grandmother of Stephanie Puentes , Paige McCarty ( Kevin ), Marina Monzo ( Evan ), Lucas Puentes ( Allie ), Frankie Damico , Vincent Monzo , AJ Damico and Nicole Damico , and great-grandmother of Sara McCarty .
Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Wednesday August 4 from 6 p . m . to 8 p . m . at the Marinella Funeral Home , 102 N . Third St . One of the people who had fond memories of DeLaurentis was Atlantic County Surrogate James Curcio , of Hammonton . He said he attended Camp Tuscaloosa for five years as a camper , from when he was 8 years old until he was 12 .
“ I went to Camp Tuscaloosa from 1968 to 1972 . I did have a lot admiration for him . He clearly loved teaching . The thing that stood out to me was that he allowed the students to pursue such a wide range of interests . My recollection of camp is that he was always bringing in snakes and frogs , which a lot of campers enjoyed , but we all also played sports and games , we put on talent

Coach Vincent DeLaurentis dies at 88

Maria Carayianni ( nee Sagias ), 91 , of Hammonton , N . J . passed away Friday , July 30 , 2021 at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees , N . J . She was born and raised in Athens Greece and moved to Hammonton in 1971 . She worked for William B . Kessler Clothing Company for 12 years than retired from Whitehall Labs after 15 years of service . Maria was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America . Maria is predeceased by her parents , Haralabos and Sophia Sagias . Surviving are her daughter , Georgia LaMazza and her husband Cosimo of Hammonton , N . J . and a sister , Amalia Vakalopou of Athens Greece . She is the loving grandmother of Gaetano LaMazza ( Yadira ) and Maria Cassetta ( Anthony ) and great-grandmother of
Brandon and Ryan LaMazza , Isabella and Mathew Cassetta .

shows . He always let the kids express their individuality , which meant a lot to me as a kid . He also taught me to swim , which was not easy . But he had a lot of patience . All of our kids went to Camp Tuscaloosa with Dina DeLaurentis , and she was just like him , a great teacher as well ,” Curcio said .
Former Hammonton Councilman Rick Amos was coached by DeLaurentis in 1976 .
“ He was a great man and a great coach . I was blessed to be coached by him personally as a sophomore . He was an assistant coach on Coach [ Joseph ] Cacia ’ s staff . The summer before my sophomore year , Coach went down to N . C . State and he saw a buckboard for linemen or linebackers to throw hand shivers for hand drills . He saw it and he said . ‘ We have to bring that back to Hammonton ,’ And the next football season , there it was . That was him ,” Amos said .
For DeLaurentis , knowing each player individually was as important as coaching the entire team as a unit , Amos said .
“ The one thing I loved about him was , not only was he a coach who commanded respect , but he was the type of man who took the time to get to know his players personally . He wanted to know
