Fiorentino , others retire

HAMMONTON — Capt . Mark Fiorentino , a longtime member of the Hammonton Police Department , announced his retirement .

HAMMONTON — At the July 25 meeting of town council , Town Engineer Mark Herrmann , of Adams , Rehmann and Heggan Associates ( ARH ) gave an update on the demolition of the building on the former site of K & K Linens , located at 224 Vine St .
“ The K & K building is on schedule for August 1 to come down ,” Herrmann said .
Herrmann ’ s report provided more detail on the project .
“ The contractor has obtained the necessary utility disconnections and completed the asbestos abatement . The contractor anticipates completing the building demolition within the next few weeks . ARH has received approval for the parking lot project from the NJ Pinelands ,” the report stated . been a part of Hammonton since 1937 , and many of the members of the community had personal memories with the building .
