Michelle Ann Palmieri
Michelle Ann Palmieri , 57 , of Hammonton . It is with great sadness that the family of Michelle Ann Palmieri announces her passing on Thursday , July 28 , 2022 .
Michelle was a 1983 graduate of Hammonton High School . She also got a degree from Atlantic Community College and went to nursing school . She worked at the family business , Farmers Daughter through her teens and 20s . Michelle worked at Mainland Hospital for 19 years as a nurse ’ s aide , where she made many friends through the years . Michelle was a kind and generous person who found the good in all people ; she would go out of her way to help anyone . Michelle loved animals , reading , swimming , needlepoint and movies . She also attended Victory Bible Church through the years , where she made many good friends . Michelle was dearly loved by her family and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her .
Michelle is predeceased by her father , Michael R . Palmieri Jr . and grandparents , Michael and Mary R . Palmieri Sr . and Louis and Anna Crescenzo all of Hammonton .
She is survived by her mother , Marie A . Palmieri ; sisters , Maryanne Palmieri and Marlene Palmieri all of Hammonton ; ex-husband , Mark Hillard whom she stayed friends with ; uncle , Joseph Palmieri ( Cheryl ) of Portland , Maine ; uncle , John Crescenzo ( Judy ) of Venice , Fla .; and many cousins and friends .
A viewing and Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday , August 2 , 2022 in St Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish Church of St . Anthony ’ s . Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery , Hammonton . In lieu of flowers , donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation , www . kidney . org .

Paul A . Raffa
Paul A . Raffa , 69 , of Hammonton passed away on Saturday , July 30 , 2022 at his residence .
Born in Hammonton , he was a lifelong resident . Paul was a master carpenter and kitchen designer . He began his career working alongside his father at John Raffa & Sons Construction Company . He was a former member of the Atlantic City Carpenter Union Local # 623 . Paul loved flying model airplanes , but flying his own plane gave him greater joy . He loved taking family members places and spending the day with them . Paul was into music and musical instruments . He performed with his band , Mixed Emotions , for many years . He was a people person and loved to make people laugh . Paul was a computer whiz and loved dogs .
He is predeceased by his parents , Paul J . and Lillian Raffa , and his brother , Ronald J . Raffa .
He is survived by his wife , Janet C . Raffa ; his step-daughters , Kelly Bennett ( Jose ) and Katherine David ( Wilson ); his sisters-in-law , Patricia Marie Raffa , Kathie Connor and Joan Seale ; his brothers-in-law , Don McCauley and Bob McCauley ; his niece , Karla Marie Raffa ; and his granddaughter , Lucy .
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated , Thursday , August 4 , 2022 , 11 a . m . in St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish , Church of St . Joseph ’ s , 226 French St ., Hammonton , where a viewing will be held from 9:30 a . m . to 11 a . m . Burial will be private . Donations in Paul ’ s memory may be made to Pitt Hopkins Research Foundation PO Box 6257 , Plymouth , MA 02362 .

Eneida Rivera-Ortiz
Eneida Rivera-Ortiz , 75 , of Winslow Twp ., N . J . passed away peacefully on Wednesday , July 27 , 2022 .
Eneida was born in Juana Diaz , Puerto Rico and lived in South Jersey for many years . She is predeceased by her husband , Pedro Ortiz Cruz . Eneida is survived by her children , Lisa ( Lissel ) Vasilakis ( Evan ), Angel R . Ortiz ( Suzanne ) and Jose Luis Ortiz ( Linda ), along with two grandchildren .

HAMMONTON — Town council will be holding a special meeting on Monday , August 8 beginning at 6:30 p . m . in Executive Session and the Public Session begins at 7 p . m . adult male at a local hotel for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity , the release said . Once the male arrived at the hotel the duo recorded the interaction and confronted the male who ultimately fled in a vehicle , the release said .

Effinger arrested for luring

HAMMONTON — At 11:45 p . m . on July 22 , a subject identified as Jose Reyes , 40 , was observed sleeping on the sidewalk at the corner of Front and 12th Streets and was found to be intoxicated , Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel said .
Friel said a northbound passing motorist said they had to swerve into the southbound lane to prevent striking Reyes .
He was placed under arrest , processed and charged with disorderly conduct , Friel said .
Friel said Officer John Amendolia was the investigating officer . Reyes was released pending a court appearance in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court .

the accused was identified as Raymond Effinger Jr ., 53 , of Hammonton , according to the release . Charges were authorized for Effinger and placed on a warrant . Efforts to have Effinger turn himself in were unsuccessful , the release said .
According to the release , with the assistance of the Hammonton Police Department Effinger was located and arrested on the evening of July 27 . He was later lodged in the Atlantic County Justice facility pending court appearances , the release said .
Luring is a Second-Degree Indictable Crime in New Jersey . If convicted , Effinger could face a penalty of up to $ 150,000 fine and 5 to 10 years imprisonment , according to the release .
The release said the investigation was conducted by Officer Michael Contreras and Detective Jacob Hunter of the Egg Harbor Twp . Police Department ’ s Criminal Investigations Bureau .
