arawak was also awarded the

2018) that was adopted during the
meeting.
the specifications of the Second
road project were explained dur-
ing the meeting by arH Senior
Project Manager Mark Herrmann.
according to Herrmann, the Sec-
ond road improvement project is
projected to begin shortly after
Labor Day (Monday, September 3),
and once the project begins, con-
struction crews from arawak will
repave the portion of the roadway
spanning from 12th Street to Chew
road, as well as the intersection of
10th Street and Second road.
in addition to paving the road
surface, Herrmann said arawak
will make various drainage im-
provements on Second road, such
as adding inlets and cross drains,
and replacing sections of outdated
piping.
Herrmann said arH is con-
cerned about increased traffic con-
gestion during the project duration
because there will be times where
sections of the road will have to be
shut down.
“We have every intention of
working with everybody, making
sure you have access. But there will
be times during the project where
we have to shut the road down
completely, mainly when we’re
doing the cross drains. We have to
shut the road down; we can’t oper-
ate with the road open while we’re
doing that,” Herrmann said.
