Egg Harbor Road after an alleged drunken driver struck their 2002 John Deere Gator with his 1997 Chevrolet Camaro, Hammonton www.hammontongazette.com Also, child hit by car on Grape St. on July 16 Police Captain Nick Salvatore said. According to Salvatore, the driver of the Camaro, Pablo Suarez-Zavala, 25, of Hammonton, never stopped before hitting the Gator. Lt. Kevin Friel and Det. Sgt. Carmel, jumped clear before their vehicle was struck and destroyed on impact. “It was bent in half,” Salvatore said. Suarez-Zavala fled the scene, and was later apprehended on the 600 block of North Street, Salvatore said. Macrie IV GAZETTE STAFF WRITER HAMMONTON—Hammonton native Rev. Joseph Capella is celebrating 25 years as priest in 2015. Born and raised in town, Capella graduated from Hammonton High School in 1979. After an 11-year journey, post high school, he was ordained as a priest on June 2, 1990 at St. Joseph Church. Attending college at St. Joseph’s University, Capella graduated from its business school with a degree in corporate management marketing in 1983.
