Steve Carr provided an update about the ongoing dog park project. “We had an original donor for 3,000 square feet of fence who backed out. Now, we need to raise approximately $18,000 for the fencing. a campaign has been set so that businesses can purchase sections of the fence and have a plaque go on it … it will be $100 for a section,” Carr said. reitmeyer spoke about the vandalism that previously took place at Hammonton Lake Park and what has been done to remedy the issue. “the increase in activity at the park means less of an opportunity for vandalism. atlantic City electric replaced two lights that were out. the graffiti was removed and the seventh grader did some community work with [a civic club] … fireworks from the fourth of July will be rescheduled for October 2,” reitmeyer said. a discussion between commission members took place regarding where to place bike racks throughout town. Carr said that many of the locations have been determined up and down Bellevue avenue but that Bi- cycle advisory Committee members are still trying to firm up the last few spots. a number of members suggested possibly placing a bike rack in front of town hall in order to promote frequent visitors to ride their bikes into the downtown area. reitmeyer led a discussion about the commission’s plans for Green Day 2016, which is set to take place in September. Last year, members gave guests small packets filled with wildflower seeds. a number of ideas were discussed for what this year’s giveaways
