OBITuARIES Frank J . “ Schooner ” Domenico

Frank J . “ Schooner ” Domenico Jr ., 61 , of Hammonton peacefully passed surrounded by his family and friends on Sunday , July 4 , 2021 at Samaritan Hospice in Voorhees after a yearlong battle with cancer . Everyone who knew and loved Schooner knows that he was the strongest man and he fought with all of his might , yet even Superman couldn ’ t defeat this aggressive cancer .
Schooner was born and raised in Hammonton and was a graduate of St . Joseph High School . After high school , he went on to join his father at the Modern Clothing Factory . When the garment industry was sent overseas , he joined the Town of Hammonton in 1993 as the first Fire Official on record . He later assumed the position of Construction Official when his mentor and partner in crime John Aloisio retired . He just recently retired from the job he loved and dedicated his time in January 2020 , to enjoy time with his beloved family .
In 1981 Schooner became a member of the Hammonton Volunteer Fire Company No . 1 . He served many roles ranging from Lieutenant , Captain and Chief during his 39 years in the department . Firefighting was his passion . He was an outstanding firefighter and took pride in his department . He was a great role model and mentor to those who shared his passion .
Schooner was larger than life and he touched so many people ’ s lives . Intimidating at first sight yet a teddy bear at heart . He would give you the shirt off his back . He was a loyal friend , a devoted husband and father but his most favorite role was grandfather . Schooner will sadly be missed by his loving and what he termed his obnoxiously loud family .
He is predeceased by his parents , Frank and Louise Domenico and brother-in-law , Edward DiMattia .
Surviving are his loving wife of 34 years , Lee ( Roselli ); children , Brandon and Alyssa Critelli ( Gennaro III ); beloved grandchildren , Gennaro IV and Francesca Critelli who were his world ; his sisters , MaryAnn Domenico and Rita DiMattia ; his niece , Debra DiMattia and nephew , Eddie DiMattia ( Chrissy ) and their children , Anthony and Krista ; his brother and sister from another mother and father , Pete and Nancy Berenato and Godson Peter Berenato ; and his brothers at the Hammonton Independent Vol . Fire Company No . 1 .
At Schooner ’ s request , there will be no services in his honor . Donations in Schooner ’ s honor may be made to the Hammonton Fire Company No . 1 , 108 Front Street , Hammonton , NJ 08037 .

Frank A . Macrie

Frank A . Macrie , 64 , of Hammonton , N . J . passed away suddenly on Wednesday , July 7 , 2021 at his home .
Frank was affectionately known to his friends as “ The Old Man ” and “ Clutch .” He was a good hearted soul who was always willing to lend a hand to those in need , no matter the circumstance or situation . He was most certainly your “ go to ” guy . Frank was born in Philadelphia and was a lifelong resident of Hammonton . He graduated from St . Joseph High School in 1975 . He worked in the construction industry for many years . During that time , he was employed by Delco Construction Company , Statewide Highway Safety , Arawak Paving and South Jersey Well Drilling . Frank had a passion for guitars , audio equipment , vintage automobiles , construction equipment , historic photographs , family history , nostalgia , motorcycles and dirt bikes . He never passed up the chance to engage in a good conversation , regardless of the subject . Frank will be sadly missed by his brother , his relatives and his many friends .
Frank is predeceased by his parents , Anthony C . Macrie and Angelina “ Angie ” ( nee
Valentino ). He is survived by his brother , Anthony “ Tony ” Macrie of Hammonton , N . J . Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday , July 14 from 9 a . m . to 10:30 a . m . at the Marinella Funeral Home . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish - St . Anthony Church , 285 Route 206 in Hammonton , N . J . Entombment will follow at Greenmount Cemetery , 124 S . First Road , Hammonton , NJ 08037 .

POLICE , from Page 1 found that Dessell was a suspended driver who had an active warrant in the amount of $ 1,000 from Lumberton Twp ., Friel said . Friel said further inspection of the vehicle revealed that Dessell had a New Jersey temporary tag affixed to the rear window that was obstructed from outside view .
Dessell was placed under arrest , transported to police headquarters , processed and released with a new court date for Lumberton Twp . and the following motor vehicle violations , Friel said : driving while suspended , improper display of plate , unlicensed driver , failure to possess his driver ’ s license and failure to wear seat belt .
Hoffman was the arresting officer , Friel said .
• On July 6 at 1:31 p . m . on the 700 block of Bellevue Avenue , police received a report of a check well-being in reference to a male subject leaning over a trash can possibly in need of medical attention , Friel said .
Officer Dalton Scola made contact with the subject , John Legore , 62 , of Hammonton , Friel said .
“ He stated he was moving a trash can from the sidewalk back to a residence ,” Friel said .
Legore was found to have two active warrants , one for $ 1,500 from Berlin Boro and one for $ 36 from Deptford , Friel said .
Legore was taken into custody ,

Katherine M . Byrianycz

Katherine M . Byrianycz , 97 , of Winslow passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday , July 6 , 2021 .
Born in Winslow she was a lifelong resident . A child of the Great Depression , she was one of the original “ Rosie the Riveters ” having worked at SKF Manufacturing in Philadelphia during World War II building war munitions . She also was employed at Kessler Clothing in Hammonton and she retired from Kellogg ’ s . She loved gardening and her pets . She will be remembered for her generosity , kindness and independent spirit .
She is predeceased by her father and mother , Kost Byrianycz and Annie Byrianycz .
She is survived by her loving sister , Aliana ( Helen ) Ammann and nephew , Robert J . Ammann both of Winslow .
Private Mass of Christian Burial was held at St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish Church of St . Joseph ’ s in Hammonton . Burial was held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hammonton .

Scola was the arresting officer , Friel said . In other news , police arrested Kreg Travis , 22 , of Hammonton at 11:05 p . m . on July 7 on the 300 block of N . Second Street following a suspicious person call made to police , Friel said .
“ A resident said they were walking their dog and saw some suspicious males walking around the intersection and block ,” Friel said .
Hoffman responded and observed a male subject who was identified as Travis , Friel said . Travis stated he was coming from a friend ’ s house but could not remember the address , Friel said .
He produced for police the fact that he had an uncapped hypodermic needle in his possession , Friel said .
Travis was placed under arrest , transported to police headquarters , processed and charged with possession of a hypodermic needle pending a court appearance in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court , Friel said .
Hoffman was the arresting officer , Friel said .
