HPD make DWI arrests

HAMMONTON—Police made
a number of DWI arrests recently,
including the following, Hammonton Police Lt. Kevin Friel
said.
• On July 2 at 1:21 a.m., Alonzo
Velasquez-Perez,
30,
of
Immokallee, Fla., was stopped on
the 400 block of N. White Horse
Pike (Route 30), Friel said.
According to Friel, VelasquezPerez was stopped for making an
improper turn and failure to maintain a lane. After being stopped, he
was found to be driving while
under the influence of alcohol
(DWI), was processed and was
charged with DWI, refusal to submit to breath testing, unlicensed
driver, reckless driving, making
an improper turn, failure to maintain a lane, careless driving and
obstruction of vision, Friel said.
He was released as per John’s
Law pending a court appearance
on July 5, Friel said.
Officer John Amendolia was the
arresting officer, Friel said.
• On July 2 at 4:30 p.m., in the
location of Lakeview Drive and S.
White Horse Pike (Route 30)
Hover Hernandez, 27, of Winslow
Twp., was stopped for failing to
maintain lane several times on
Route 30, tailgating and failure to
yield for an emergency vehicle,
Friel said.

toxicated and was arrested and
charged with driving while under
the influence (DWI), failure to exhibit documents, reckless driving,
unlicensed driver, failure to yield
to an emergency vehicle, following too closely to the car in front
of him, unsafe lane change and
open alcoholic beverage container
in the vehicle, Friel said.
He was charged and released as
per John’s Law, pending a court
appearance, Friel said.
Officer Jason Rigby was the arresting officer, Friel said.
• On July 3 at 10:37 p.m. on the
300 block of Central Avenue,
Francis Luisi, 18, of Hammonton,
was stopped by Officer Jared
Baglivo, Friel said. According to
Friel, Baglivo was advised by a
caller that a vehicle driven by a
young male who was possibly intoxicated pulled into a driveway.
Luisi attempted to pull out of
the driveway, was stopped by
Baglivo and brought to the police
station for breath testing, Friel
said.
Friel said Luisi was charged
with driving while under the influence of alcohol (DWI), careless
driving and reckless driving by
Baglivo, Friel said. He was released as per John’s Law with a
court date of July 5.
