Phyllis N. Tomasella Phyllis N. tomasella (nee Sanfilippo), 92, of Hammonton died on tuesday, July 2, 2019 at atlantiCare in Galloway twp. She was born and raised in Hammonton and was a 1944 graduate of Hammonton High School. She worked as a Bell telephone operator and then became co-owner, along with her husband Joseph, of tomasella’s fire equipment Co. inc. She was dedicated to volun- teering for the feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and even continued to walk in the Procession up until the age of 90. She enjoyed attending elvis impersonator shows featuring Doug Church and Mark reno. She is best known as “Mom Mom Phyl” or “Mrs. t” and will always be remembered as the fiery red head who was full of life and energy. She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph C. tomasella; parents, Biagio and Mary Sanfilippo; brother, Lawrence Sanfilippo and sister, angelina Macrie. Loved ones who will miss her until they meet again are her beloved son, Joseph B. and his wife Pamela of Manahawkin; her dear brother, emanuel “Sonny” and his wife Carol of elm; her cher- ished grandchildren, Sarah thiewes, Michelle Silipino and her husband andrew, ashley Modugno and her husband Perry, Kimberly tomasella and Hope tomasella; her precious great-grandchildren, Brooklyn thiewes, aria Modugno, Shay tomasella, adeline and Gabriella Silipino; as well as her much loved extended family. Viewings were held Sunday, July 7 and Monday, July 8 at the Marinella funeral Home in Hammonton. Mass of Christian Burial was also held on Monday at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish-St. Joseph Church in Hammonton. Burial took place in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 124 S. first rd., Hammonton. Donations may be made to Hammonton Vol. fire Co. Ann Louise Enscoe ann Louise enscoe, 89, died July 3, 2019 at Virtua Marlton Hospital in Marlton. the daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Malaguti) O’Neil, ann was born on february 22, 1930 in Middleboro, Mass., and graduated Middleboro High-School in 1948. She attended Barnard College in New York City before meeting her future husband, Gerry enscoe, on a blind date. the two were married at St. Paul’s Chapel at Columbia University on June 3, 1950 and moved to Seattle, Washington, where Gerry and ann earned degrees at the University of Washington. they also lived in Detroit, Mich., and Lancaster, Pa., where they raised their two sons. Gerry was a professor at franklin & Marshall College and ann taught high school french and english. in 1971, Gerry took a job at the new Stock- ton State College in New Jersey while ann earned a Master of Social Work degree at rutgers. the couple retired to Boca raton, fla., in 1987. Gerry passed away in 2000 and ann moved to New Jersey to be closer to family in 2012. ann is survived by her two sons, David enscoe and his spouse ann Donio of Ham- monton, and Christopher enscoe and his spouse Cindy Carter of earlville, N.Y., as well as four grandchildren, adrian Blake enscoe of Brooklyn, N.Y., zoe rose enscoe of North Hollywood, Calif., David Donio enscoe and Jane Donio enscoe of Hammonton. the family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. arrangements made by Carnesale funeral Home. Thursday, July 4, 11:26 a.m. Shoplifter reported on the WHP by Gabe Donio G azette S taff W riter HaMMONtON—Police are searching for a man who stole cig- arettes from a Wawa store on the 200 block of N. White Horse Pike (route 30) at 3:08 a.m. on July 6, Hammonton Police Lt. Kevin friel said. “there was a report of a shoplifting. Someone stole a pack of cigarettes and ran out of the store,” friel said. Police are seeking abimael Barreto-ruiz, 19, of Hammonton, friel said. there are no charges as of press time, friel said. “Police checked the area for him and could not find him. He had fled the store on foot and went down Basin road,” friel said. Officer Gordon ellis iii was the investigating officer, friel said.
