Gayton J. Capelli
Gayton J. Capelli, 82, of the Nesco section of Mullica twp. died at
home on June 22, 2019.
He was born in Hammonton on August 14, 1936 to the late John D.
and Marie (Grasso) Capelli. After graduating from Hammonton High
School in 1954, he worked primarily as an HVAC mechanic with
Steamfitters Local 420 until his retirement in 1995. He also spent many
summers working his small blueberry farm in Nesco. His claim to fame
was as catcher on the Hammonton All Stars team that won the Little
League World Series in 1949. His membership in that fraternity was
an important part of his life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was
an expert clam shucker.
He is predeceased by his wife, ramona (Alessandrini) in 2017 and his parents. He is
survived by his children, David of Nesco, Janice eggie and son-in-law Jake eggie of
Marmora, Chip of Provincetown, Mass., and granddaughters, Olivia eggie and Angela
eggie of Marmora. Also surviving is his loving sister, Marion Condo (ralph) of Water-
ford along with a variety of nieces and nephews.
following cremation, a visitation will be held today, Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from
6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Carnesale funeral Home, 202 S. third Street in Hammonton,
where funeral services will take place at 8 p.m. in lieu of flowers, the family asks that
donations be made to Mona’s Kids, a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) charity created in his wife’s
memory to assist families with children who have extraordinary uninsured medical ex-

Robert Michael Applegate
robert Michael Applegate, 57, died suddenly on Monday, June 17,
2019 at his home in Winslow twp.
He was born in Upper Darby, Pa., and graduated from Cinnaminson
High School in 1980. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps after grad-
uation and served for six years. He continued his education by receiv-
ing his Bachelor’s Degree from rutgers University. Applegate worked
as a Computer technician for Hahnemann University Hospital in
Philadelphia for the past 10 years.
He is predeceased by his father, William Karl Applegate. Surviving
are his wife, rita Applegate (nee McGinnis); his daughter, Katrina Ap-
plegate; his mother, Barbara Applegate, of Sebastian, fla.; brother,
William (Sharon) Applegate of Philadelphia and sisters, Susan (Bob) Hill of Sebastian,
fla., and Katherine (Andrew) Long of tampa, fla. He will be sadly missed by his nieces
and nephews, Jacklyn (Jonathan), Joshua (Amanda), Laura (reed), robert (deceased),
Brian, Kelly and Cayla, as well as Katrina’s mother Olga Applegate (nee rusakova) and
friends he loved like family.
Visitation was held Saturday, June 22 at the Marinella funeral Home, Hammonton. A
Life Celebration Service was also held Saturday, June 22. Cremation was private at the
convenience of the family. in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart
Association and American Stroke Association P.O. Box 417005 Boston, MA 02241-
7005.

Margaret Sarah Wescoat
Margaret Sarah Wescoat, (nee Peterson), 80, of Nesco died on fri-
day, June 21, 2019 in AtlantiCare regional Medical Center, Mainland
Division.
Born in Hammonton, she was a lifelong area resident. Wescoat for-
merly worked as a floor manager for Deer Park Baking Company in
Hammonton. She was a member and Past President of the Nesco Vol.
fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the Pinelands
United Methodist Church, where she served as past treasurer for the
Women’s Ministry. She also volunteered as a den mother with the Cub
Scouts. She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed canning, especially
pickles and all kinds of jelly.
She is predeceased by her husband, George f. Wescoat, Sr. and her siblings, Doris
ford, Clarence Peterson, Jr., Lloyd Peterson, Donald Peterson, James Peterson, robert
Peterson, ethel DeCicco, Shirley Smith and raymond Peterson. Surviving are her three
sons, George f. Wescoat, Jr., Carl Wescoat and Daniel A. Wescoat, Sr. (tina); her five
grandchildren, Millissa A. Wescoat, Justin A. Wescoat, Ashley francesco, Daniel A.
Wescoat, Jr. and Brandon r. Wescoat and her five great-grandchildren, Bailee Wescoat,
Lucas Wescoat, Mekanzie Wescoat, Kenny Wescoat and Savannah francesco and many
other extended family members.
funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 12 p.m. at the Car-
nesale funeral Home, 202 S. third St., Hammonton where a viewing will be held from
10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Batsto-Pleasant Mills Cemetery. in lieu of
flowers memorial donations may be made to the New Columbia-Nesco United Methodist
Church, 3551 Nesco road, Hammonton, NJ 08037.

N. Washington Street at 11:53
a.m. on June 21, friel said.
“His roommate told him that
sometime between the hours of 8
a.m. and 11 a.m., someone had
taken items from his garage,”
friel said.
Video of an unknown male was
shown to police; a man, wearing a
blue baseball cap, blue jeans,
brown boots and a red and gray
backpack walked into the garage
and stole a weed whacker and
hedge trimmers with a combined
value of about $200, friel said.
Mendoza is the investigating
officer, friel said.

Michael C. McMahon Jr.
Michael C. McMahon Jr., 49, died suddenly on Wednesday, June
19, 2019 at his home.
He was born in Philadelphia and graduated from Cinnaminson High
School in 1987. McMahon worked for CSC in Marlton and was a
member of Solid rock Baptist Church in Berlin where he was active
in reformers Unanimous. He also was a Mental Health Counselor for
Mental Health Associates in N.J. as well as the Jewish family Services
in Margate. He loved all his clients.
He is predeceased by his father, Michael J. McMahon, Sr. Surviving
are his mother, Patricia McMahon (nee Devine) of Hammonton; son,
Michael C. McMahon iii, of Palmyra, N.J.; his sweetheart, Kathleen
Donoflio and her children Vincent and Gia as well as his siblings, Gloria fiorentino
(Mark) of Hammonton, Sean McMahon of Moorestown and Colleen McMahon-Mihal-
itsch (Chuck) of Stevensville, Md. He also leaves behind nine nephews, three nieces and
his furry friend Doogon.
A church viewing will be held today, Wednesday, June 26 at 10 a.m. with services to
follow at 11 a.m. at Solid rock Baptist Church, 420 S. White Horse Pike, Berlin. A view-
ing was held tuesday, June 25 at Marinella funeral Home, Hammonton. Burial will be
private at the convenience of the family. in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
Solid rock Baptist Church, 420 S. White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ c/o reformers Unani-
mous Program.

Rick L. Summers
rick L. Summers, 63, of Nesco died peacefully at home on thurs-
day, June 20, 2019.
Born in Cumberland, Md., he has lived in Nesco for 55 years. Be-
fore retiring he worked at zone Striping inc. of Glassboro and prior to
that at Lenox China in Pomona. Summers loved spending time out-
doors and he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a part owner
and member of the Nesco All Around Sportsmen Club. He enjoyed
cruising around Nesco in his custom golf cart. He was known for his
generosity and willingness to help anyone in need.
He is predeceased by his parents, John H. and Betty Jane Summers
and two brothers, robert and thomas Summers. He is survived by
three sisters, Diane Summers (Michael LoSasso) of florida, Karen fayter (Peter) of fol-
som and Debra Kilburn (Paul) of Mullica twp.; one brother, John W. Summers (Marjorie)
of folsom; eight nieces and nephews, John, ronald, thomas, John, Christopher, tara,
renee and Brian and many great nieces and nephews.
A viewing was held on Monday, June 24, 2019 at the Carnesale funeral Home in
Hammonton, where funeral services also took place. Burial followed at Greenmount
Cemetery in Hammonton.

found he had an NCiC “take into
custody” warrant from Cumber-
land County, friel said.
Sanchez was transported to the
Atlantic County Jail, friel said.
$2,000 stolen
from gas station

HAMMONtON—A burglary
on the 700 block of 12th Street
was discovered at a gas station
and called in to police at 6:06 a.m.
on June 23, Hammonton Police
Lt. Kevin friel said.
Upon arrival, one of the em-
ployees discovered the window
broken on a door to the building,
friel said. further investigation by
police noted that the electrical
service to the building was cut,
friel said.
“the unknown subject or sub-
jects made off with a safe contain-
ing $2,000 for the startup cash
drawers,” friel said.
Detectives were called to
process the scene, friel said. De-
tective David reustle will be the
lead investigator, friel said.
