Lakeview Gardens discussed at PWTC mtg .

HAMMONTON — During the June 15 meeting of the Public Works and Transportation Committee meeting , Public Works
Manager Robert Vettese gave an update regarding well testing for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances ( PFAS ) in the Lakeview Gardens section of Hammonton .
“ We only got one person back that submitted it , and they ’ re on Moss Mill Road . They tested negative
on the PFAS ,” Vettese said .
Mayor Stephen DiDonato said that the water at 777 N . White
Horse Pike had also been tested .
“ Their water passed for PFAS ... I had mine and my daughter ’ s tested ; we passed for PFAS . Mine was 10.4 out of 14 parts per trillion
,” DiDonato said .
Vettese said that he planned to further request that residents in that area test for the contaminant .
Also during his report , Vettese discussed the Transportation Alternatives Program through the New Jersey Department of Transportation
( DOT ).
“ There ’ s another funding source that they have , where we can get anywhere from $ 350,000 to $ 1.4 million . There ’ s a whole bunch of different projects , from bikeways , pedestrian paths , historic preser-

HAMMONTON — Several area dignitaries gathered at Macrie Brothers Farms on June 20 to celebrate the opening of blueberry season and also kickoff this year ’ s # JerseyFreshisBest photo contest .
New Jersey Department of Agriculture Secretary Douglas Fisher was on hand and commended the Macrie family for their work and fine crop .
“ This is a special time of year . Farms like this one [ Marcie Brothers ] have been working hard and now are ready to send some of New Jersey ’ s finest blueberries around the country ,” Fisher said .
