Howard O. McAnney
Howard O. McAnney, 80, of Hammonton died peacefully at his
son’s home with his family by his side.
Born and raised in Lower Bank, N.J., he retired as a teacher from
the Elizabeth Board of Education in 1998. Along the way he taught at
Ranch Hope in Alloway, N.J., and Delsea Regional High School from
1971 to 1984. He served the Lord as a pastor in Williamstown, Mays
Landing and Woodstown, N.J. He also served our country in the U.S.
Navy aboard the U.S.S. Midway during the Vietnam War. McAnney
also loved being on the water and duck hunting.
He is predeceased by his parents, Orville and Olive McAnney. Sur-
viving are his wife, Mae (nee Woodhead); three sons, James McAnney
(Eva) of Wayside, N.J., Pastor Dan McAnney (Marcy) of Hammonton and Mark Thomas
Brady of Manheim, Pa.; two daughters, Rebecca Susan Polk of Milford, Del. and Holly
Anne Naugle (Ray) of Glenview, Ill. and one sister, Diane Otey of Wilmington, Del. He
was the loving grandfather of 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Victory Bible Church, Hammonton,
where a memorial service was also celebrated. Burial took place at Lower Bank Cemetery
per the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Victory
Bible Church Building Fund.

Ballard L. Ricci
Ballard L. Ricci, 67, of Hammonton died on May 18, 2019.
Born in Hammonton, he was a lifelong resident. He graduated from
Hammonton High School and Stockton University with a BA in Math-
ematics. He worked as a self-employed musician and computer con-
sultant most of his life.
He is predeceased by his parents, Michael A. “ Barney “ Ricci and
Louise “Toppy” Ricci (nee Ballard). He is survived by several cousins
and close friends.
Funeral Service and interment were private with Ricci being laid to
rest with his parents in Greenmount cemetery.

Douglas S. Baldi
Douglas S. Baldi, 51, of Buena died unexpectedly at home on Friday
May 31, 2019, now residing with our Lord Jesus in Heaven.
Born at Cherry Hill Hospital in Cherry Hill, Baldi was raised in
Collings Lakes, Buena Vista Township, before settling in Buena Boro.
He was a skilled builder (residential and commercial), roofer, carpenter,
mechanic and welder. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and socializing with
his many friends and his dog Cleopatra.
He is predeceased by his fiancée, Roxanne Trapani and his father,
Robert J. Baldi. He is survived by his son, Douglas W. Baldi (Julie);
three granddaughters, Julianna Baldi, Amelia’sky Baldi and Talisa
Baldi; his mother, Joan Heller; stepfather, Marx Heller and three broth-
ers, David Baldi, Robert Baldi (Julia) and Michael Baldi.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Carnesale Funeral Home,
Hammonton, where a visitation was also held. Burial will be private at a later date. In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Baldi Family, in care of the Carnesale Fu-
neral Home.

Carmen D. Mojica
Carmen D. Mojica (nee Robles), 77, of Hammonton died peacefully
at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, June 11, 2019.
Born in Villalba, Puerto Rico, she has been a resident of the Ham-
monton area since 1961. Before retiring she worked as a Certified
Home Health Aide for Bayada Home Health. She was a longtime
member of the Puerto Rican Civic Association and St. Mary of Mt.
Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph’s, and the Cursillo.
She is predeceased by her son, Felix F. Bermudez III and her par-
ents, Santiago and Vincenta Robles. She is survived by five children,
Wanda Gomez (Reinaldo), Nelson Maldonado (Valerie), Jackie Crespo,
Maria “Yaya” Rodriguez (Pedro) and Alex Morales; 10 grandchildren,
Juan, Yadira, Hector, Stephanie, Marco, Jose, Felix, Yanira, Nelson Jr. and Lourdes; 12
great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jose Robles (Carmen), Raul Robles and Luis Robles;
three sisters, Maria Luisa Robles, Rosa Burgos and Yolanda Robles and many nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Viewings were held on Sunday, June 16, 2019 and Monday, June 17, 2019 at the Car-
nesale Funeral Home, Hammonton. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Mon-
day at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph’s, Hammonton. Burial
followed at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 124 S. First Road in Hammonton.

Man facing sex assault charges

ment investigated the allegations and a subsequent
search warrant and arrest occurred on June 12,” Friel
said.
On June 12, a search warrant was served on the
300 block of S. Third Street in Hammonton resulting
from an investigation conducted by the Hammonton
Police Department and the Atlantic County Prosecu-
tor’s Office’s Special Victims Unit, Friel said.
Members of the Hammonton Police Department,
Atlantic County S.W.A.T. and the Atlantic County
Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Victims Unit executed
a search warrant and safely took Perona into custody,
Friel said.
Perona was charged with aggravated sexual as-
sault, endangering the welfare of a child and aggra-
vated criminal sexual contact, Friel said. He was
transported to the Atlantic County Jail to await a de-
tention hearing, Friel said.
Police investigating thefts

HAMMONTON—Police are
investigating thefts that occurred
last week, Hammonton Police Lt.
Kevin Friel said.
• On June 12 at 5:27 p.m., a res-
ident in the 200 block of Union
Road reported there were two
power drills that were stolen from
a residence, Friel said.
“He does not have a time frame
for when the drills were taken but
just noticed they were gone on
June 12,” Friel said.

Virginia Miehl
Virginia Miehl (nee Juliano), 101, formerly of Hammonton died peacefully Monday,
June 10, 2019 at United Methodist Communities at Collingswood.
Born in Philadelphia, she lived her entire life in Hammonton. She graduated from
Hammonton High School in 1936 and worked as a Bookkeeper for Bruno Oil Company
for many years.
She is predeceased by her husband, Theodore C. Miehl to whom she was married for
55 years; her parents, Ralph and Margaret Juliano; her brothers, Richard, Herbert, Alfred
and Ralph Juliano, Jr. and sisters, Bertha Siscone and Marie Curriden. She will be sadly
missed by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held Monday, June 17, 2019 at Oak Grove Cemetery, 500 N.
White Horse Pike, Hammonton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Amer-
ican Red Cross P.O. Box 37839 Boone, IA 50037-0839.

• On June 15 at 8:51 a.m. on the
800 block of 13th Street, a man re-
ported a 2005 Yamaha ATV as
stolen from his garage, Friel said.
“The victim stated that at 8:30
a.m. on June 15 he noticed that the
rear garage door had been opened
and the ATV was missing,” Friel
said.
It was last seen on June 14 at 1
p.m. when he was cleaning his
garage, Friel said.
Friel said the ATV is described
as black in color with Yamaha
graphics.
Officer Eric Pohl was the inves-
tigating officer, Pohl said.

In other police news, local law
enforcement made a warrant ar-
rest following a motor vehicle
stop at 1:12 p.m. on June 11 at the
corner of Second and French
Streets, Friel said.
Luis Rueda, 22, of Hammon-
ton was found to have an out-
standing warrant from Mullica
Twp. in the amount of $500 and
a NCIC warrant from the Atlantic
County Sheriff’s Office, Friel
said.
Detective Sgt. Jared Baglivo
was the arresting officer, Friel
said.
Friel said Rueda was trans-
ported to the Atlantic County Jail
pending appearances in the At-
lantic County Superior Court and
Mullica Twp. Court.
